Good ol' England.
They do the same thing every time. Play in a manner which makes you think they might win, but they just don't.
England, repeatedly breaking hearts since 1966. </3
So with that out of the way, go Holland!

ESP - NL 2010 was rigged. This time, refs tried their hardest to make NL lose by giving the other team free penalties but it didn't work, OLÉ! HUP HOLLAND
we're gonna lose

Well, they weren't as good in the first match, but they still won. Generally, teams that have played poorly in this World Cup have lost, and holland is the only exception. Obviously winning whilst playing poorly is a very good sign. If they play like they did against Spain, there's no country that could stop them.Vogue wrote:ESP - NL 2010 was rigged. A world Class finish and a Penalty is the only reason the scoreline was so close, Holland are my favourites to win right now, this really could be their year.
Chile are right up there too.

Re: World Cup thread
They are great but I'd love to see them play against germany.
In my opinion, germany is great in taking players out of the game. CR7 never scored a goal against them, last time Messi played against germany he played like garbagge. So if they're able to take out robben (we got 6 players from his team, might be doable) and look after van Persie it will be heavy for them because of their new system. Last time I thought there are very few players in their enemies half but those few players were enough because of their individual skill. If you take them out it will be heavy for holland.
I don't have the brackets in mind but I do hope they're playing against each other, just to watch a great game.

Re: World Cup thread
Argentina played poorly against Iran. If it wasn't for the missed penalty call and Messi's amazing goal at the end Iran could've won.
A lot of good teams are playing badly. There are gonna be a lot more upsets unless they step it up.

Re: World Cup thread
So many of the lesser teams are playing well now that anyone could win this tournament. Chile look especially strong so far.
Playing since December 2006
