Sure, I am assuming SP2 has the same address as SP1? Regardless, you should edit the entry on the server list too.AI-team wrote:short question to sine or whoever made the brackets:

this is a fine point but also, I think, an important one: the person who made the brackets has the right neither to deny or accept the request.
Now, sine did absolutely nothing wrong. But he shouldn't have had to do anything at all. He shouldn't have had to tell you yes. You shouldn't have put him in a situation where his consent is required before something happens. That's a piece of unnecessary bureaucracy.
The Ladle is self-organized, and the bracket maker is a volunteer just like anyone who volunteers a server. Self-organizing means you don't need someone's permission to do something and it also means no one person can prevent you from doing it.
What you should have done is made the changed and then posted that you made the change here, and explain why you made the change. If enough people care enough and have enough of a problem with it, they will respond and a discussion will begin. If not, the change stands.
Just do it, tell everyone you did, explain why you did it.
Re: Ladle 53
Concord is 100% right in the above post. I have no authority to give anyone permission to do anything. It should be obvious that we'll need to edit servers occasionally. Changing the Challenge Board to reflect moving from one port to another is incredibly trivial and needs no consent. Now, if you wanted to change the server to one located in another continent, well, THAT would be a problem we would all need to discuss.

Re: Ladle 53
Yeah, I have to agree. Clearly you only had good intentions, and it's never wrong to ask somebody for an opinion, but asking for permission (as it was implied you did) implies that sine is the one who merits permission. Just a small, but meaningful technicality.

Re: Ladle 53
I renamed the "Opening Round" on the Bracket to the Octa Final, since that is what the time table calls it. In this Ladle the Opening Round and the octa-final are the same thing, but the time table doesn't recognize that subtlety. The potential for confusion was that the bracket said the Opening Round started at 18:45 GMT and the Time Table said 18:00 GMT. Anyway, it's been changed to remove this source of confusion, unless this post has made you confused, in which case just forget everything and show up at 18:45 GMT.
Re: Ladle 53
I never understood why we use the term "Octa Final" when I've literally never heard that term used anywhere else. "Round of 16" would make more sense.
Re: Ladle 53
have you heard any tournament called a Ladle anywhere else?

Re: Ladle 53
Cody told me this and I saw it happen.
As of now, he is planning on playing as himself and running 5 bots from a different computer (he has 5 other logins) and will go 1v6 with chat bots roaming.
This is ridiculous if you ask me.
His team should be disqualified and himself banned.

I'm indifferent about minecraft.
Have SP check their logs. He was trying out his new technique on their server yesterday.
Let's just hope cody finds some players before tomorrow comes.

Rename his team to Team Chat and watch him complain about chatkills.
I think he just wanted to troll you and gets some random real players tomorrow though.
If he's all himself and has not got 4 real players, it's a forfeit anyway, no? It would be a real funkiller for his opponent though, which just sucks.

...I've thought about what to say for several minutes now, and against my personal interest, I think Cody really needs to find some real players before tomorrow. It's against the integrity of the competition if someone can enter a team of bots when we all implicitly assume that the competitors will be human. It's too bad though; a bot team in the ladle would be hilarious. XD
"And in the second half of the brackets, we have: Titan's bot team vs Pokemaster's bot team! Titan's bots have amazing turning precision, but Pokemaster's bots close! Who will emerge victorious?!"

Re: Ladle 53
4 players = 4 people not 4 bots.
Bots aren't players, they are computers.
