In case iFail reads this (since apparently he didn't check the rules):

In the event that your team misses the sign up deadline, and one or more teams have a bye in the first round, you may ask the team with the first bye for permission to fill the open slot.

Sense there are seeds now, shouldn't the rule be as described below?

Maybe the rule should say something about A team signed up after the deadline may ask the lowest seeded team with a bye?
Sense only seeded teams get byes unless 17 teams sign up. <- Which is possible. Then it would have to say A team signed up after the deadline may ask the 1st bye team if not a seeded team and if the 1st bye is a seeded team, they may ask the next unseeded bye. Where the first unseeded bye is a team that isn't seeded from the previous ladle but still has a bye.

I think this can all be fixed in the .randomteam script. I also came up with a way to solve server bias with .randomteam too, so maybe kyle can look into this when he has the time. Hell, I would even pay him to make the revisions, but I think he simply has too much on his plate right now. So kyle, can I send you a few bones to look into this? What do you think?

The #1 seed will always get the highest bye, and the #2 seed will get the 2nd highest bye and so on. So if there's 5 byes with 4 seeds, the unseeded team automatically gets ~bye~1. If there's more than 5 byes, the unseeded teams are randomly assigned the first byes and the seeded teams get the last # byes accordingly.



The only problem with this system is that a team can choose to sign up late and in that way get to decide whether they face a seeded or an unseeded team in the opening round. Note though, that the team with the assigned ~bye~ can always decline, and I assume that's the best solution to this problem.


Edit: If madmax is talking about survivors' team, don't worry, they've checked with _~R~_ in pm, otherwise _~R~_ would've brought it up. I could agree that it'd be better to ask publically on the forums though.

Nope, I was talking about Tron Legacy.
iFail added the team yesterday without actually knowing if he could signup and in what conditions. He eventually removed the team and added himself to the Open Team.
