ok word...after reading sine.wav's post, i actually looked at ur storyboards...hmm. I agree with sine! However, I think that you have a unique idea! Perhaps you could try to refine into something that works! Perhaps if you tone it down (like to touch the actual planet that the rest of us live on), you could make it an animated history of Armagetron! Don't give up, you have some intriguing ideas! But they need to be coherent enough for us to try to understand it!

lol yes, some things don't make really sense, but I thought they look funny in the film, so i just give them a try. The pink tunnel scene is the first I finished, it looks a bit naive at the moment but I will change the contrast and add a couple of filters...
I ate chocolate while I did this...maybe that's the reason why it is way too colorful...

You'd beat guru3 or even DrJoeTron with this.

Looks awesome... right up until after the 12th frame. I loose the plot there.

a roadmovie.

a cycle drives through the desert. On its way, strange things happen - to answer sine.wav's question: i think the sudden (dis)appearance of the Z-Man belongs to them :) -and it passes a couple of tron-gametypes , which are later replaced by metaphorisms (sumo, df, hr,...) and are announced by bright subtitles. Later, the cycle core dumps another cycle and it ends in a big, colorful explosion. The name of the game and a certain internet link appears.

Does a good advertisement really need a (complicated) plot? You want to impress someone with it (in the normal case on the purpose to sell it). And if it has some funny scenes, maybe it works.
The elevator scene (not complete yet):

Wow i just now saw this thread. I had the same idea like a year ago after watching a battlefield 2 promo. One of our friends was involved in the making of the battlefield 2 promo. I had asked my graphics team to make a wild west skin and then the plan was to write and shoot a promo video to promote tron. (but they fizzled out and never finished the skin) I've been experimenting with movies lately so hopefully this summer when I have more time I can show u guys what I come up with.

I think the instructional video is an amazing idea. I have tons of students that would love to play, but they can't figure out how to do the basic stuff, let alone changing a skin to have better graphics. I have often wondered if we could make an amazing basic skin and then have that part of the default download, and then offer the current one as like a "retro" option for those who know how to change out the skins.

***sine would you be interested in contributing your trains and carriages to the wild west skin and being part of the team?

I love it Word! Besides, promotional videos don't have to make sense, just instill intrigue. I think you've got that down pat

Everything I create belongs to all. No permission needed. (This is true for me outside of Arma as well.) We can work out the details on lagtest.

My apologies about the registration required bit. If you pm me, I will pm destiny and be sure to get you registered. Because of the massive amount of activity on the Wild West Forum, when Destiny did allow open registration, within less than an hour the board got hit with so many bots that she gave up on not requiring registration. Unfortunately, when Destiny upgraded the board to phpbb3 with the tourney mod, the automatic registration broke. So, until Manta gets around to fixing it, she is registering people manually.
So, as I stated, if you want to access Wild West, just pm me and I will pm Destiny the appropriate information. I would not suggest pm'ing Destiny here, since she checks this forum somewhat randomly.
