I think we (CT) have more than a team.
for this ladle, we had 8 players, plus 3 backups and few players that wanted to play but couldn't (trainees for e.g.)

I think some of us can play in open teams or help the US ones ;)

about the positions, I agree with hoop, let the fate decide, we can easily make a script that choses for usand put the 4 best teams of previous ladle in 4 different "divisions" at start

I liked the way the open teams were made for the FFF. just register, and discover who you are with :)
still, it doesn't concern me right now, but can be great to have a 'similar' system, and maybe add to it the "uncomplete" teams so, the teams with 6 players will get 2 independant players :)

I love your optimism Monkey, but let's take it one step at a time. I'd first like to see 10 teams show up, all with at least 8 players, before we even think of having 12 teams.

Based on history, the very first Ladle had the most participation (minus this last one) and the one's afterwards decreased in players. Then again, having it every few months or so will probably reverse this trend.

And again, I agree with 1200 about the US server situation. Wild West can easily host 2 of the servers as long as they temporarily shut down the CTF ones and I'm sure luke-jr would be willing to spare a few.

yeah I agree, maybe with 12 teams, we can have 4 groups of 3- each group plays each other in a round robin, and the top two (or top 1) move on. I think it would be best to put spot 1, 2, 3, and 4 in different groups, to add to the competition. So atm, maybe Ct, X, Tr, and MC?

Durka, you are forgetting how interfering I am. I would not allow any team, that I have suggested to play the Ladle, to turn up with less than a full team of 8 players and I would not let them turn up without being certain that they knew what they had to do in terms of organisation. I will only recommend 12 teams if I am sure that they will all do the Ladle justice. I nagged the WRD team about organisation, time-keeping, etc. Come the Ladle, they brought a full team, they arrived early and they were completely organised.

I will be organising practice matches well before the next Ladle, to test and prepare the new teams that I think should be in it. If a team can't be organised and bring 8 players to a match then they aren't a safe bet for the Ladle. We will therefore know whether we should have 10 or 12 teams.

I think Durka just listed the dates suggested in this thread.

Personally I would prefer if we could just stick to the first Sunday of a month, so December 7th gets my vote.
winner of: Spoon, 3rd, 6th, 9th, 11th, 18th, 19th, 33rd, 34th and 48th Ladle.
