I won't answer any questions concerning the league cause I didn't plan it. You need to wait for Nani - but of course you can post anything you want. Suggestions for improvement are welcome.
I personally think there should be a higher reward for draws because these matches took more effort for both teams while the Open Team vs H8D match was quite predictable (no offense)...Also, teams should be rewarded for showing up and playing until there's a definite winner (by definite I mean that a team lost 3 matches and not just a single one with a score of 22-100).
And thanks again for the screenshots, you're saving us a lot of time

Firstly, many thanks for Word taking the reigns while i was away.
I plan on reviewing the competition during the close season, for now I'll say I'm open to revising the points system to 1pt for showing up, +0 for a loss, +1 for a draw, and + 3 for a win.

This is correct, maximum scoreline is 3-0.

Thanks. If it fails, believe me, I won't be starting again. I would happily maintain it if it continues into the next year/s.

My point was that the above statement isn't true at all. The only games that matter at all will be those during your playoffs, the rest is simply a formality.
I disagree again. Each team will have to show up every game for 10 months. This competition will undoubtedly lead to development of the "lesser" teams, and as each member of the 3 sided groups has to play each other twice, anything can happen. I think it's premature to slate the competition as merely a formality. This is hopefully the first season of a competition that lasts a long time, ensuring that there is always something to challenge teams by doubling their competitive matches. Even if you're correct about this yea, if this competition continues, i anticipate more teams would signup, and this would no longer be the case - including consideration of improved teams.

know I didn't just read that this is simply another afl where the league basically just determines seeding for a ladle at the end, did I?
I knew that this was based on the champions league but I thought that there would be an actual league with everyone somewhere too, oops
& am I right in saying that the next load of matches is on December 18th? I didn't know it was that dragged out. Because of this I think it also decreases the whole competitions significance
Ok though it will reward consistency & I hope it's a success. I also urge everyone playing to know what the deal is though and not complain or decide not to turn up next year because they hadn't really looked at what they were playing in
Lastly I think compguy jumping on the league bandwagon is not so bad at all now because it sounds like newer teams will get a lot more playing time in it
Yes, the next round of matches are December 18th. Novembers fixture was moved to accommodate the Fort Cup. It's dragged out until July next year, I've made clear where the information is as much as i can, it's all on the site. I disagree on the significance factor, if you win a competition people have been trying to win for 10 months, it's more significant tan winning a competition teams have been trying to win for 2/3 hours.
There is/wont be any seeding at all in the TPL. The top two teams go through to a completely random pot, excepting the other qualifying team from your group. Everything else is random, any team can face anyone.
I've made clear the information available as much as i could, I made clear that if you were signing up, you were in it for the long haul I echo your sentiments hoax, and encourage people to keep with it.
INW wrote:tbh, a tie should be worth half the points of a win so that the same number of points are distributed to either 2 teams every match.
So if team A wins 1 game and losses the next, they receive 3 total points.
Team B ties both matches but only has 2 total points.
Theoretically, 2 ties should equal a win and a loss, but it doesn't here.
The same number of points should be distributed no matter the outcome of the match.
ppotter wrote:Seeing how it's based on the European Champions League, in which you get 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw, I think it's fine how it is.
I quoted ppotter, because I agree with him. However, everything will be up for review at the end of the season, I've indicated earlier in this post what my thoughts are regarding points.
