I really don't care if our government fails (not that it hasn't already), I actually want to see it fail. Life would be so much more interesting if we were all in the midst of a disaster.Lucifer wrote:Indeed, for any government that is chosen by the people, the people have a responsibility to stay informed about current events, historical events, and current issues so that they can choose government officials capable of dealing with these things competently and with respect to the will of the people.

I was just thinking today about this again and thought, "the world's going to hell and we're all clapping our hands." Now strictly speaking, that may not be true, but the engineering problems involved here are nothing to sniff at. Any solution is going to be costly, in addition to the cost of the environmental damage being done.

Actually, it was more the juxtaposition of the original page (which some would describe as silly left-wing bohemian tree-hugging environmentalist alarmism) against FOXNews (which is by any sane standards a rightist outfit that by in large doesn't even recognise the reality of environmental issues, including their gleeful denial of climate change).Luke-Jr wrote:Ironic note: This statement implies other "news sources" are any more credible.Phytotron wrote:(Anyone else notice she later cited FOXnews?)

It's pretty cool to see all the different types of reactions to this disaster represented in this thread - over/under-estimation, realism, idealism, anxiety, apathy, etc. Have you been diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder yet Mecca? What an awesome cognitive distortion and low internal locus of controlMecca wrote:I really don't care if our government fails (not that it hasn't already), I actually want to see it fail. Mecca is it really so nice to wish government failure?Mecca wrote:I really don't care if our government fails (not that it hasn't already), I actually want to see it fail. Imagine what the meanest person in tron would say...
Oh, and your stupidity landed you a spot on Mkay's personal Wall Of Shame(a.k.a. The blocked list). Other residents include bambam, and it soon will include Liz!
Your 1:10 ratio of meaningful posts to troll posts is a little too low for me.

Haha, you must be far left. FOXNews is on the left, not the right.Phytotron wrote:Actually, it was more the juxtaposition of the original page (which some would describe as silly left-wing bohemian tree-hugging environmentalist alarmism) against FOXNewsLuke-Jr wrote:Ironic note: This statement implies other "news sources" are any more credible.Phytotron wrote:(Anyone else notice she later cited FOXnews?)
If by "climate change", you mean the global warming myth, you picked a terrible example. The only climate change actually going on is pretty natural for the most part.Phytotron wrote:(which is by any sane standards a rightist outfit that by in large doesn't even recognise the reality of environmental issues, including their gleeful denial of climate change).

I did qualify "sane standards," Luke. You don't qualify.

It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it.
