Sorry for the hour and a half match, everyone. I guess that's just how the game is played right now. The threat of the hole, making sure you have numbers to prevent it. Sweepers carried the day, and that usually makes for long long rounds.

SP, I hope we didn't get under your skin. I think some nasty comments leaked out (did apparition get silenced once? LOL!) But yeah, I had a great time playing you guys and can't wait to meet you again.
Now about silencing in general...
I make a habit of silencing everyone I don't want to heard from during Ladle; it's usually most spectators and maybe some players on the other team if I think they will say things to hurt my fragile ego.
However, now that I think of it, silencing players individually might not be practical in the near future. This is because, from what I understand, there will be many more spectators soon. Kyle, where there 47 people in the SP vs Plus match including, or not including teams? That's a lot of people regardless, and it was difficult to manage the silence menu for it.
I'm glad to play for an audience. I love it, even if I lose. But soon it really might not be practical to silence individual players in a match, especially if there are 30+ people coming and going. I feel like maybe there needs to be a filter in the client to silence spectators only. Is it possible? What is available at this time? I only know of ENABLE_CHAT 0.

The SILENCE_DEFAULT option is available in 0.2.8 releases. When a new player enters the server they are silenced automatically if SILENCE_DEFAULT is turned on.
The SILENCE_ENEMIES option is only available in recent 0.3 releases. When enabled chat sent from enemies (anyone not a teammate) is not displayed on your client if you are alive. If you are dead all chat is displayed.

47 total, so 35 specs 12 players, that only happened for the final match about 2 rounds in i bumped it to 45 and once it got to 44 i had K-yo bump it to 50 for max (that is what I compiled it at) it only used 25% at it's peak 1.3 MBPS outbound traffic and .5 MBPS inbound traffic for the peaks.

We want to allow specs to talk amongst themselves. Also, silencing should be a personal responsibility - we're just thinking ahead. Actually, I rather liked some encouragement from the specs I hadn't silenced. The harmful chat is bad, but I also like to see people are having a good time and reacting to the action. Kyle, you should count how many "PsYkO sucks" chats there were

That is quite an audience, hopefully everyone enjoyed the game..I know I did! Although I really must figure out a way to disable my zoom key (its like mouse button 3 or something weird) cuz i cant find it, yet every once in a while i will press the track pad with my palm and it goes haywire
It did that in the last round of the second match i was soooo mad lol

Durka: It does work with SILENCE_DEFAULT. But maybe we should backport SILENCE_ENEMIES to 0.2.8?
Yeah, I silenced Robo and apparition. I was informed they were /msg spamming, and having no way to verify that myself and silencing not interfering with /team messages, it was shoot first, ask questions later. Also, sorry for all the spectator kicks on my server, SP and CT are huge clans and I had to make room for potential players. The bans would have been shorter if you hadn't come right back. I don't have a client limit of 50 compiled in

yeah appa's spamming totally threw me off.. he kept asking me about music, and it was distracting because he's got such a good taste in music haha
plus you guys surprised me! i knew you were gonna be tough, and i didnt expect ST to win easily (or even win at all haha), but you guys really did put up a tough fight - gj

We were swiftly moving a head, and Plus seemed history, until the second match and that failtorp really brought them back into the game, something like 90-60 ending up 100-98 to them. After that SP really felt the brunt of their determination to win. A combination of their teamwork, play-style and the US server that kept randomly sliding and taking out our players, really got to us.
NT Plus, and like Orion once said, we are the father of CT, muahaha!

Zman - We only had one other potential player on our roster, but I think if you make it to the finals your teammates should be rewarded the opportunity to watch. All other positions are fair game.

Maybe, but I don't feel it's my responsibility to check the actual rosters of clan teams when it comes to determining who can spectate and who can't, at least not until someone tells me someone who is missing. Then, yeah, I'd have started to kick people not on the active players lists. As it was, the 'no clan tag->kick' algorithm seemed to work well enough. I'll extend it to 'no clan tag OR contains vogue->kick' next time, though. Sneaky git.

Huh? She was indeed on our roster and playing for Speeders. We told her to wear the tag for that exact reason of making sure she's counted as a team member. Nothing sneaky going on. 
Thanks Vogue for subbing for us, in-case FoFo didn't turn up or ended up lagging, as he was playing in a cafe and could have suddenly disappeared.
TBH I don't think it was a big deal. There's no need to make adjustments for things like this. I guess it was heavily crowded and it happens in the Ladle. But I think it mostly just goes down to increasing the slots to 50-60 on Ladle final servers.
