Good games. Most credit goes to Durka, he carried me in lots of matches
Btw, that suiciding thing was pretty lame if you ask me.

Recordings (0.2.8.2.1, as usual, also as usual, probably won't work for Macs):
quarter1.aarec
quarter2.aarec
semi1.aarec
semi2.aarec
final.aarec
Semi1 is the last bit of the semi-final on the TSP server, semi2 the complete one on empha's. The others were all the games on my servers.

Good matches! I will post screenshots in a bit.
Re: TST 2010.01 - 64 Players, 2 Winners - January 17th
I blame Word for losing this, by which I mean letting madmax and Durka win, and I'm only half-joking here.
For those in the dark, Word and I made a last minute team in some round (quaterfinals was it). Thunderbolt and Lightfoot were poised to win their second match and send Word, myself, Durka and madmax home losers. I continue to give Thunderbolt and Lightfoot points, but Word does not, there were only 3 teams, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot can't help their own cause, and the eventual champions walk away. So if you want someone to blame, blame Word for being too proud to lose correctly.
Word, it was fun playing with you, even taking the above into consideration. We had our moments and it looked feasible for a round or two that we could have won something. Alas, it was not to be.

Re: TST 2010.01 - 64 Players, 2 Winners - January 17th
I was Thunderbolt, and in my opinion Concord, we were ahead and didn't need you to give us points, but then suddenly one round I clash with my team mate and then the next Word comes flying in kamikaze'ing into me (not giving me points, but trying to kill me) and really locking me into a tight position, but I made it out and then failed to recover.
I didn't sign up for this TST, I was only backing up for someone else so this was all sudden for me, and I personally wouldn't have used Thunderbolt. :p
Good matches Durka, are you sure? I'm annoyed at the fact you acted that way for just 200 points, which then, due to delay and arguments turned it into 300 points. (Almost reaching 50% of the total score). So desperate to win that you threw away your dignity.. (madmax was silent so I'm not pointing any fingers at him.)
I wasn't aware that the match had started and centre messages were being spammed and disappearing before I could properly read them and to say I wasn't paying attention was an insult to the situation. On top of that the admin was spamming with a player about something not relevant to the match. So I was still assuming we were waiting for Cow and his partner to turn up.. The least you could have done is agreed to give us a reset and be done with it..
You're lucky to have won that last round and I'm not bothered about losing. I've lost before, but this shit will not be forgotten. You've sparked something that will make me return with something better. See you next time or join this War Sumo tourney and we'll meet you there. Getting cocky for your boots.

Here are most of the screenshots of our matches:

Anyways, going back to your other point:
From my point of view, it could not have been any clearer. There were only 3 teams, but only 2 legitimate ones as far as I could tell. Word subbed in for paperclip and then Concord subbed in for paperclip's partner, Prestige. TST rules say "A team that doesn’t show up is considered forfeited." So, technically, since neither Word nor Concord were original members of the team, they should not have been allowed to play. Then again, all this is very fuzzy since the team signed up was "Cow & cuzboy" and since these are 2 aliases, it isn't really clear as to who was even supposed to play.
One of the 2, in my mind, legitimate teams wanted to restart. Honestly Flex, if I thought that it wasn't clear as to when the match was supposed to start, I would've agreed with restarting. But, from my point of view, it was extremely clear. Regardless, I wasn't afraid of losing at all.
Then again, to bring my argument full circle, it's frustrating to lose a match because 4 players don't want you to win so badly that they begin suiciding on the remaining 2 players' walls. Again, there needs to be some type of rule against this.

Does anyone else see anything wrong with this scenario? You didn't want me to win (again) so you resulted in suiciding on the other team's wall? There needs to be some rule against this (see: WW CTF tourney mass-suicide debate). But...Concord wrote:For those in the dark, Word and I made a last minute team in some round (quaterfinals was it). We won that match by 360 points which is over half of what you had anyways. You weren't close to winning that match even with the intentional suiciders and it DEFINITELY was NOT because of luck. Do you honestly think that the reason I've won the last FOUR of these TST's is because of luck? No, I didn't think so. Nonetheless, I welcome your challenge as I feel it only makes the game and its competition that much better.Flex wrote:I was Thunderbolt, and in my opinion Concord, we were ahead and didn't need you to give us points, but then suddenly one round I clash with my team mate and then the next Word comes flying in kamikaze'ing into me (not giving me points, but trying to kill me) and really locking me into a tight position, but I made it out and then failed to recover.

Anyways, going back to your other point:
From 20:40 until 20:50, K-Yo kept reminding us that we were going to start at 20:50 because the rules said to allow up to 5 minutes for everyone to show up. It was 20:51ish when K-Yo asked if we were all ready, there was a bunch of spamming of yes's, he then said that we were starting the next round. When the round ended he announced that we were about to start.Flex wrote:Good matches Durka, are you sure? Re: TST 2010.01 - 64 Players, 2 Winners - January 17th
...Okay, lots of friction here.
I have a thing to complain about: the servers. All of the servers I played in (and no offense): Emphasis, TSP #1 and Z-Mans slided and had lagpauses a lot.. I know I'm not the only one who experienced this (Roter?:D). I'm just wondering why, I have a good computer / good connection and even in the NL server I was having issues. Very annoying. Other than that, there were no issues, finals were a bit late for some reason and now I'm really tired before school..
prob not doing that again on a Sunday evening. The admins behaved fine too, well, most of them at least, but they didn't bother me.
Want to thank nubilous for the great games, didn't expect we'd make it all the way to the finals.
(esp with fofo/roterbaron , punish/rudy in our circle)
