You need the right version of Arma installed. 0.2.8.2.1 would it be. If the recording breaks up regardless, then that's what it does, no way to fix it, I'm afraid.

I had 0.2.8.2. When I downloaded 0.2.8.2.1 from beta.armagetronad.net, it said there is no set application for opening blahblahblah. So, how do I get it to work?

You did donwload the .exe installer, right? Not, say, the mac .dmg or the source tarball?

So you are on a mac? It doesn't matter from where you download it.

Well I'm not sure if that dmg file is .2.8.2.1 or .2.8.3

There are many .dmgs on aabeta. Pretty much all of them, in fact 0.2.8.2.1 should be the one prominently featured on the download page on armagetronad.net and the default download when you visit the sourceforge project.
