No, you don't need 'Armagetron Advanced' to keep playing Armagetron. It's simply for players that want to see new features and want some bugs in the game removed.

However, in the far off future, 'Armagetron Advanced' may one day become incompatible with 'Armagetron' - but that day is not soon.

Also, what you think is a hang is actually your cvs program trying to download a huge Visual C folder containing a large .zip file without giving you progress information.

If you wait long enough, the download will finish and cvs will continue.

And your English is good! :)

First we warn you that CVS may not always work, and a lot of it is undocumented. That being said, the VisualC folder is around 6mb, so it's probably just taking fer ever downloading that, let it run a half hour. If it still hasn't gotten it by then, then it's hanging and we'll take a look into it.

PS. Thank you for your interest :).

i've already talked to him and he was a bit reluctant but i hope that he will join the future :D

he was worried about backwards compability. at some point in the future backwards compability will probably be broken but not necessarily and only for very good reasons i'm sure

btw there are several 2.6 servers who already don't allow pre-2.6 clients isn't there? i think i've seen some but maybe i was hallucinating :?

You're correct. There are some armagetron servers that don't allow armagetron clients before 0.2.6.0.

Ah guys, about the Macintosh tester, I never got my confermation e-mail. You dont have to add me to the project, just give me the version and I'll test it and see how it goes. So dont worry about adding me to the project or what-ever, I'll just test it for Mac when you guys give it to me. Sorry Marrow.

Thanks to all of you :)

Marrow: Yes. I play armagetron but I want to see new features and bugs removed ;)

OK! I thought it hanged because I didn't have a progress indicator .
I'll try to compile again in Linux...

I have some programming skills in C/C++. If you post a list of bugs or miniminifeatures to add I'll try to help. I'll take a look to the source code to get familiarized

And thanks for the rebirth of armagetron ;)

You're welcome! And...what is your sourceforge account name? I love adding people to the project before asking them first.

I'm sure we would love to have you design some cool graphics. I've been wanting a new front pic to replace the moviepack pic. One that says 'Armagetron Advanced' with a cool logo. Maybe you'd be interested in coming up with a few ideas. Are you interested joining as a graphics person?

Not yet, but it'll happen eventually.

Also, you could do web work and help Tank, if or when he needs help.

We haven't made a total list of the new features yet. But once we do, we'll post it.

Great, do you have a sourceforge account? If no, you can go here:

http://www.sourceforge.net

and get one. It's free and they ask you very few questions, and once you have it, I'll be able to add you to the project:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/armagetronad/
