god bless you, prey. it seems you may have salvaged the situation. well, marrow? i've collected every kind of bag i have:

a large plastic bag
a medium-sized kevlar bag
a medium-sized bag made out of corn-starch particles
an old burlap sack
a cloth tote bag
a nylon camping supply bag
a fake bag that doesn't really exist

well now... it seems like the foot's on the other hand this time, mister pimp-who's-not-really a pimp.

BTW, how do i put my personal logo right below my name?
i've been all through the profile panel and can't find it. :(

Connect via telnet to guru3.sytes.net on port 1988.
You won't get a prompt. Your cursor will just sit there. At this point, type: "I'm a naughty monkey." (Sans the quotes)
Now you will receive a login prompt where you can use your forum name and password to login. Everything is command line driven, so it is somewhat of a pain to use, but you can type "?" for help.

The command you want is: set desc "whatever"
Be sure to put your description, which are the words below your name, within quotation marks or only the first word will be used! Trust me, I learned this the hard way.

Other commands are

set nick <newnick>
set pass <oldpass> <newpass>
set email <address>
set location <location>
set occupation <occupation>

Useful commands:

set topics <number>
set filter <on|off>

Not so useful commands:

set showmail <on|off>
set hidden <on|off>
set notify <on|off>
set signature <on|off>
set gullible <on|off>

I can see it now. Oh, the possibilities.

Tank's firewall is dropping the packets or...

his system logs are filling if he has log_in_vain enabled...lol.

Chalk it up to a crappy DNS server, maybe?

why is it that guys will change a perfectly fine discussion of weddings into a discussion about computer problems?

FYI Subby was right .... as soon as i saw cat and weddings in the title, it was the first topic i clicked on!
Don't try! It's the first step towards failure!

hey this i had to try but sadly no success.... i even tried using putty for this instead of the usual wincrap telnet client, and then i started messing around with using different settings such as ssh as well - no luck :(

can any of you who made it through provide some more details please? :cat:

i presume you all know putty, if you don't then shame on you :o hmm i will of course spread the gospel if anybody asks...

btw:
- weddings 5u><!
- cats can do whatever they like, i like it when they follow me :D
- whois Pim Ping? never heard of him...
- astronomy rocks = asteroids *hihi i'm a dork* :?
- if anybody feels like it they can hack their way to my name etc. and send me some super putty
- never ever talk bad about computers, my computer is my closest friend, lover and confidanté (uhuh that sounded bad... is my life really that shitty? guess so)
