I still don't understand how everyone just found out about this now. The invisible children stuff has been going on for like 2 years, and anyway, kids have been in the military forever. Look at the Spartans, they recruited at like 13. Not saying I support, but I mean come on, how is it suddenly so obvious to the world?

No, but what is farcical is that a bunch of kids (the majority of those passing this around are in the 13-24 range)—who up to this point were completely oblivious to this kind of stuff, actively so, who mocked and dismissed people like me who are always talking about this kind of stuff, whose lives were heretofore wrapped up in themselves and their phony "social networks" and idiotic pop culture—are all of a sudden so moved and outraged thanks to a slick viral video. I don't say "engaged," because simply passing on and "liking" a video—especially before analyzing it critically—or making a forum post, then going on about your myopic, narcissistic lives doesn't qualify. These are the same kids who tweeted and facebooked "LOL who is Osama?" but danced in the streets because it was an excuse to party.

"Trust me, there are people who still have no idea." There are a lot of people who still have no idea about a great many serious issues, including many related to this one, and trust me, you're one of them. Not to single you out, so are most of the people who made this video viral.

That may not be simple, obvious funny, but it sure as hell is a farce deserving of satire.
