Absolutely true. They knew this was wrong and did it anyway. Because of that fact SP should suffer consequences.Desolate wrote:There was a lot of angry posts against the action before the ladle. If you were really sorry you would have changed the teams back before the ladle, and admitted you were wrong then.
Re: Speeders official response to Ladle 36
OK let me put this to rest. Yes before the ladle there was a trickle of posts coming mainly from IB, obviously they would be angry due to their new match up. Personally, I had anticipated that, what I hadn't thought of was the communities adverse reaction. After the ladle a barrage of posts flooded the forums. I read through them, and some were from people just stirring the pot, while others were honestly looking for a way to fix this and make amends. I could compare this to the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I knew it would explode, but really I didn't know how large a scale this would be. It ended up generating 6(?) topics, and people whom I have never heard of criticizing it.milan wrote:Absolutely true. They knew this was wrong and did it anyway. Care to introduce yourself?

Re: Speeders official response to Ladle 36
This really doesn't read to me as an apology but rather as an excuse for why SP did it.
Re: Speeders official response to Ladle 36
Sup. I didn't think it was that big of a deal at the time. Keep your absolute statements to yourself. Peace.milan wrote:Absolutely true. They knew this was wrong and did it anyway. Thanks ins/psyko for your replies.
I guess I will have to accept that theres no real way of knowing if you are only sorry "because of the barrage of complaints" or if you truely realise what you did was wrong, and will put in a bit more effort before your next "scheme" to figure out if its morally right or not. Either way, I'm up for forgive and forget now, so this is my last post on the topic.
See you guys on the grid!
oh and yes, I will keep making sarcastic comments and jibes about the scandle while on the grid, but thats just my character when I'm playing armagetron. Don't take it seriously

Ignorance vs. Maliciousness...I've said it repeatedly. I want there to be a group of people/person that teams can go to BEFORE the ladle to discuss any grey areas to either approve/disapprove.
Re: Speeders official response to Ladle 36
You can find my name on the Challenge Board, that should be enough. And why does it matter from whom post comes from? Did I insult you?-*inS*- wrote: Care to introduce yourself?
@PsYkO: Should I keep my absolute statements to myself because you dont like them? What I stated is obvious and what Desolate wrote is absolutely true.

Well...I did.
Re: Speeders official response to Ladle 36
I am not, and dont see why would anyone want to argue with what I said in my original post. Just wrote what I thought on the subject and then replied to replies. I don't see what is wrong with that. You are the second person who told me to keep my opinion to myself or go away. Sorry if I offended anyone it wasn't my intention.Goodygumdrops wrote: if you're just going to try to keep the argument going, go away
Re: Speeders official response to Ladle 36
Your absolute statement included a false assumption about me.milan wrote:

Oh...I see now, you don't know what absolute statements are.
Re: Speeders official response to Ladle 36
I absolutely believe this too and Milan absolutely is allowed to express that on this forums like anybody else. But personally i would want these naughty boys to play next Ladle so we can beat their asses on da grid!Milan wrote:Absolutely true. They knew this was wrong and did it anyway. "They knew this was wrong and did it anyway"
This is an absolute statement. One that I take offense to. Thus, he should maybe think more before he posts something that someone would take offense to. This is called respect, and common courtesy, which are both being asked for by us and everyone else.

Re: Speeders official response to Ladle 36
First of all the statement wasn't mine, it was Desolate's.PsYkO wrote: Your absolute statement included a false assumption about me.
Second: what false assumption would that be? I am not talking about you personally, but about team you are in.
You knew that what you were doing was wrong because people told you it was wrong on this forum before the ladle. I didn't see your post before the ladle where you admitted it was wrong. You didn't swich teams back. This tells us that you all (exept for þsy apparently), or just you captain (which is quite enough) knew that what you were doing is wrong and did it anyway. So correct me please if any of this is wrong. Since I think it isn't wrong I am calling it an absolute statement. And that is the reason why you, as a team, must be punished one way or the other.
Truth can't be offensive.

wow
and i have no idea what actually happened
nor do i want to know
hmmm
in the original design
there was meant to be flexibility about where a team chose to be on the brackets
to allow a kind of jostling for position
a higher level of strategic play...
the random option of placement may appear to avoid certain problems of volatility
but
it robs us of this higher level of play
which potentially robs us of a certain level of flexibility...
i am a firm believer in minimal structural form
maximum personal accountability...
less rules
more honour and respect
(those funny qualities we aspire to
can only be demonstrated if they are given a chance)
any blow-outs should be taken out between players and teams on the grid
NOWHERE ELSE
(we don't have the skills verbally
nor the technology
to prevent us hurting ourselves and our community
with the misuse and misreading of words
imho
but we do have this game to walk our talk
as it were
