it's true, they are different games1200 wrote:There is so much team play that could be executed in team sumo imo and
I don't think you can say one or the other has more team work just like you can't say a soccer team uses more team work than a doubles tennis players or a pair of beach volleyball players.
They are different games!
in one game you have 11 people on a team and in the others you have 2
which game is likely to have more complex strategy?
Well...I did.
Re: TST 2010.01 - 64 Players, 2 Winners - January 17th
I'd say sumo.
In fort everyone knows it's position (well, they are supposed to). Sweeper, attacker, center, midfield, defender etc.
In sumo however, there are only 2 people to fill in lot's of jobs and team work is essential. Both partners need to know what to expect from the other, and a sudden move by the enemy might change the whole strategy of the team. Same counts for fort though, but somehow I find sumo more complex than fort.

If you don't like the original TST, then don't sign up.

That's what I want to find out. I keep hearing people talk about all this strategy, but no one has posted anything. If I start a "Team Sumo Strategy" thread, will that make everyone more comfortable to talk about it? Because, I don't really like Sumo/Team Sumo, but I want to. Maybe talking about the nuances of the game will inspire me and others?Olive wrote:In sumo however, there are only 2 people to fill in lot's of jobs and team work is essential. Wait... Done.

i guess if you are on a team with a lot of people, it's easy to say "well i don't have to try or think about what is going on, my teammates will take care of things"
Well...I did.
Re: TST 2010.01 - 64 Players, 2 Winners - January 17th
i dont think strategy is effective
one should just feeel the movements in sumo and know when and how to turn and to work with your teamate wwell, just have one person give teh other his/her zone

I thought we were talking about amount of team work not complexity??GGD wrote:in one game you have 11 people on a team and in the others you have 2

But i think you can make your strategy as simple or complex in sumo or fort depending on how imaginative you are.
Isn't allowing one person to take your partner's zone a strategy???teen machine wrote:one should just feeel the movements in sumo and know when and how to turn and to work with your teamate wwell, just have one person give teh other his/her zone
Yea true you have to feel and kinda go with the flow because you don't have the luxury of time or space but
just like the strategy you suggested there are others your team can try to execute as the round is starting...
@Sine: perhaps i will discuss some of these strategy with you privately ...hohoho!
Re: TST 2010.01 - 64 Players, 2 Winners - January 17th
I remeber several months ago, preSsure and I played a closed 2v2 match with SP's Psyko and Magik (sp?). Anyway, I suck a sumo, and preSs was determined to do this wacky starting grind every time... and it failed every time. I was like1200 wrote:...there are others your team can try to execute as the round is starting...

well in this case there isn't much to discuss, either1200 wrote:I thought we were talking about amount of team work not complexity??GGD wrote:in one game you have 11 people on a team and in the others you have 2

obviously the more people on a team, the more teamwork you will see
on a 2-person team, if one person dies, there is no more teamwork that round
Well...I did.
