Ahh Word, My silly little German friend. Wie geht's dir? As you would say it. Well, I go on just to poke fun onto the stupid. You can can read about it on "Really General" topic "@Silar". As I said before, I'm not even playing. I go on say a few words, people get worked up, "argue" with me, and thats it. If you want me to actually try, I'm willing to but at what point? What reward do I get? I get no prize for being good or anything but just what? A little reputation from fellow game players? and a chance to be on some ladder? Your move, fruity.Word wrote:if it was so easy why does Silar permanently get core dumped whenever he plays?

Re: going PRO
just back from pitching the head of discipline in wales and in scotland education
can't get through to the english gov yet
interesting experience...
will write it up somewhere
as you might appreciate
it's a difficult challenge getting this game into schools
and i'd rather i didn't have any from this community
hence my attempt to offer a self-selecting procedure
so that the people i engage from here are actually positive and proactive
my objectives for the end of december are:
1 get 10 schools using the game
2 produce video evidence of kid's responses and teacher's reaction
3 provide evidence and testimonials to local and national gov contacts, and perhaps funding bodies for costs of travel, site, etc
my current to do list consists of:
1 collating the information of those who are interested
2 setting up some kind of system of reportage of the current state of play, perhaps even buy a domain name
3 revise the business plan
4 contact local gov bodies here in the uk, especially london
5 contact local schools and pitch them with the game
i was hoping that my friend finish an alpha of social software to assist this kind of collaborative project
but we only have a clunky prototype...
not sure how to proceed on this actually...
i'd love to have a few people who were just enthusiastic and could contribute to making decisions even at this early stage..
oh
met an interesting person at this conference i went to last week
media ecologies and post-modern production
and she's networked through the unis to someone who is conducting a phd on computer games and education
so we might get some proper research evidence expertise

Re: going PRO
finally got some serious responses!
thank god!
the initial question of eliciting a number 0 to 10
is meant to be a self-reflective exercise
giving some kind of indication of how people are thinking before they evaluate the proposal
(useful immediately and hopefully retrospectively)
my job now is to rewrite the business proposal
and i am thinking of using google wave
until my colleague codes the alpha of this collaborative tool we've been working on...
i shall be posting invitations to those who have shown interest
(i have 8 invites available to me)
to take part in the writing
as well as the planning etc
thanks for everyones responses
