I should have made this clear when I posted it and when I told him what programs were used to make it.
But, here goes...
I am really sorry for the dissappointment lucifer, but this isint my music, I found it on this one site, I cannot remember what it is. All I know is that it was free and that it did not say anything about copywright. I only remember the name of the gameplay music, it was called "Trance lives on" Again, I am really sorry for the dissappointament. This is the kind of music you will hear playing in my head though, if only I knew how to compose... If I really did make this, I would take the offer you gave me in a heartbeat. Maybe in the future?
I am sorry... :'(
I will keep looking for the maker and direct him to this site if you want me to.

Wow, listening to ALERT! in mplayer while playing arma made me win two team sumo matches on a half full to full server (after not having played for about a month). So either the people I played against really sucked, my teammate really rocked, or ALERT! is great ingame music. I think the latter is the case

There's no place like ::1
first of all, that track is no good. i only appeals to teen or pre-college kids, or people still stck in that part of their life. techno/dance music is a small minority of what is out there. granted, the music should be instrumental and while it shouldnt be easy rock, it also shouldnt be techno.
you say 'but techno is electronic, like the game'....sure fine, something electronic, but not hard bass and ultra fast beats....for crying out loud...i dont want a headache when playing the game.
if you use that song, you should have two other options. that will be the "hard" music settings, then you can have medium and soft songs as well...like maybe ut2004 sondtrack kind of stuff (if you are familiar with that) - or any other video game...ut2004, ut3, mass effect, swat (series), halo, etc...those kinds of multi instrument songs that arent just aimed at techno....
make sense?
p.s. - but if i were going to choose three songs, i wouldnt use that song even as one of them...there are much better choices out there that are not copyrighted.

Thanks for your input crobs808. Music is a very touchy subject since we are all very close to it. You're right, there should be some less aggressive music for Arma. Lucifer pointed this out in a sicky under "Auditory."crobs808 wrote:first of all, that track is no good...for crying out loud...i dont want a headache when playing the game.

The only way to make the music part of Arma a success is to have more people contributing. So, while your opinion is valuable, providing some alternative music would be much better. The plan right now is to create a system where users can switch music in the same manner as moviepacks. However, there is still a chance there won't be any music you like (unless you contribute your own). Or course, there is always the option of playing without music, or just playing a playlist from your computer.
Also, I disagree with your statement "...there are much better choices out there that are not copyrighted." I think you mean unlicensed. You might want to do a little reading on copyright law.
