The units varied a bit during development; I think now walls are one unit high, and I always think of that being approximately one meter. Although you probably would be sitting, not lying, in my two-wheeled vehicle. As Jonathan points out, the length units for cycle walls are explicitly labeled as meters.
But subby is of course right, too. Since everything is supposed to be virtual, there is no real natural unit for length ( perhaps a "bit"? And "qbit" for area measurement? ), and instead of seconds for time measurements, nanoseconds or ticks could be used. I don't mind particularily.

So we have two units:
- Size: Meters or not, they are used everywhere in the game and equal to 1 GRID_SIZE.
- Time: Seconds both in reality and in the game (except during a fast finish). Actually the frame time smoothing makes the unit consistently slightly different in one direction (the HUD displays 52-57 fps when I'm getting exactly 60 due to vsync. I added my own framerate calculation using a rolling log as a proof).

nice to have another Dutch guy on the forums, and one(refering to jonathan) who can speak english in detail.
You're absolutely right :) i thought that was clear right away, sorry for the confusion Lucifer, but I tend to use Dutch grammar in English since I just think it's easier :P.
(Lack can speak English very good as well though, the fact that you didn't recognise that prooves or proves that :))

"2" and "ur" instead of "to" and "your", you know. That's not English the way I learnt it in class.... ;)
Well, I didn't learn it that way either, but else it takes so long writing and i'm used to MSN Messenger and messaging in-game where the number or characters is limited. So when you want to type something, it oughts to be short because else it won't fit...
