I really can't see the use of it all.. Isn't one forum enough? I mean.. The developers are here right? So why make a new forum and ask just a select group of developers (of whom one is the admin of this forum

) to join your forum to do... Whatever you're idea is to do... I mean.. Isn't it better just to have one place to discus everything?

To be honest, it's not the general-purpose part of it that irritates me. It's the part where to get access to his leet tutorials you have to make 5 posts and be registered. Why can't he put those on the wiki where they'd help the most people? Why do they have to be in this place where you have to buy them with your friendship?

It's kind of sick when you think about it. Maybe he needs counseling?

Well, I'm not going to complain about more communities forming around armagetronad. I think that is a good thing. I do think however that you are marketing to the wrong people using sketchy tactics.

I also acknowledge the intention to help with the tutorials; but those I could see were about
- how to chat in color all the time
- how to double bind

In short, I think the direction is wrong. It's superficial. Yeah, it's stuff that new players ask, but it's not what they really need.

This may be just me, but I judge forums by the parts visible to unregistered users. I don't listen to promises how great it will be once I sign up. I'm annoyed that Apple only gives out XCode once you register with them, and annoyed at Microsoft that they only gave away Vista beta keys to passport users (although I find that a bit more understandable) and you're not Apple and what you give away is not XCode. Forcing registration and posts for stuff to give away is a dead wrong way to grow a community site.

It actually is called Xcode (small c). The Xcode-users' list administrators get angry with you if you don't get their product name correct :o And you still need to register to get updates (latest is 2.4.1, IIRC)

Well seeing as this site is filled with lame ass holes who have no clue about web creation i would say you all need to get a life. The game sucks btw and i made that site with the help of fmods btw durka. I am part of that forum. And users rather go to my site then yours because i offer a lot more.

Also remember that my site has been around for about two weeks and already has 89 members. so no worries. Ill laugh on this topic in the future when my site is bigger and better than this one. Thanks for having me
