I know it's joking. Just like Orion and ItzAcid were "joking." And my criticisms of that type of joking remain—which, I'm sure, is half the reason Luck made that post at all. "Hey, I can make fun of Boxed, smear homos, and troll Phytotron all at once!"
Look, you may as well make racist/ethnic slurs and brush them off or justify them by saying, "hey, we're just kidding." (One wonders if Taz would consider those sort of remarks "not enough to make us care." Possibly, considering the amoralism of that group.)
Enough of that stuff, already. Grow up, learn a little decency and dignity, for yourself and others. Stop contributing to this culture that says there's something weird, or gross, or shameful, or wrong about being LGBT. You kids always like to say, "don't hate, don't be a hater!" Well, you're hating. Stop it.
I do get the reference, by the way. (Got my Dominicans rolling crêpes reference?)
Phytotron wrote:You kids just can't resist, can you? "Oh, look, Boxed is a queer cross-dresser!"
At least he's not a furry!
I hold it with Harald Schmidt. Paraphrased and extended: Everyone has the right to be made fun of, for any reason. The original quote would be, IIRC, "Sogar Behinderte haben das Recht, verarscht zu werden", or "Even handicapped people have the right to be made fun of". The philosophy behind that being that deliberately NOT making fun of groups of people is what really cements segregation. Just because you make jokes about something (within audience dependant limits, of course, which orion crossed) doesn't mean you don't respect it.
(My post is seriously off topic.. But this reminded me of the definitions Noxee, a drag queen, gave ^_^)
"When a straight man puts on a dress and gets his sexual kicks, he is a transvestite. When a man is a woman trapped in a man’s body and has a little operation, he is a transsexual. When a gay man has way too much fashion sense for one gender, he is a drag queen and when a tired little Latin boy puts on a dress he is simply a boy in a dress."

"You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one;
I hope some day you will join us, and the world can live as one"
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
I believe that to truly love is the ultimate expression of the will to live.

Wow way to make my post about you. It had nothing to do with you or making fun of homos. It was me poking some fun at Boxed. If he can easily take it as a joke why can't you?
Btw I posted the link to that video because that is the first thing that came to my mind when he said he was wearing a dress.
Also what does wearing a dress have to do with homos?

hahaha yup
Anyways..what orion was doing is different. There's a difference between joking around and just blatantly insulting someone, and orion was obviously blatantly insulting dub.
It may be common on the internet, that does not make it prudent. In fact, joking at somebody elses expense is by far the most effective way to present oneself as belonging to the lower social circles.
On the other hand, being moral about it is not overly useful either. Actually, morality is in general rather useless.
