I wonder what was up with the servers.

It seems they all sucked :o ?

If anyone cares to watch the recordings, try to spec. me in Z-man and watch the ridiculous 180's I make in the beginning (at the grind), ctf style, does anyone know how?

Yeah it must be because of the pos.2 grind.. can't give a technical explanation though :P

1200: sorry about that, something must have gone weird between you and the server for a couple of minutes. My stance so far is that technical problems like that are just worse forms of latency, and we do say that latency is a problem each player has to face on their own. In the case of random dropouts, that would mean that a team should be prepared for them and have immediate substitute players available by having them invited and already scheduled to join at the next opportunity. Do suggest a vote for next ladle, though. It's certainly possible to handle this in code, with a TIMEOUT command that stops new rounds for a bit (calling the appropriate functions so team management is in effect) or even automatic triggering of that break when connections drop. At least giving teams the chance to reorganize without panic would be something I'd support.

Olive: yeah, that was a bit weird. Visible in the recording is how jumpy your laggometer is; sometimes, it's .2 seconds large, sometimes, it's gone completely. That means your command messages arrived with fluctuating latency.

Sadly, the serverside recording fell victim to the server running out of disk space halfway through. The interesting bits are not on it :(

Yes, this has been suggested before. I've made a thread to discuss more thoroughly:

Maybe a good idea, maybe not.

Very fun ladle everybody. A lot of lag, but I think overall everybody had a very fun time.

Congrats to CT. You guys were just a beast this ladle. You guys ravaged our defense. Really. It's hard to imagine a team stronger than you guys were.

Looking forward to L40. Let the month-long wait begin.
