ok, now I'm worried.. :?
It is 24hrs and no one has any suggestions on anything?
Come on guys, I know it's been discussed over and over again but would be nice to have a few constructive ideas to chew on them together and hopefully find a competition format that would fit us all
for ex:
1. how big should groups in initial faze be ? and later ?
2. how many rounds in preliminarys / 2nd ruond/../ semis/ finals ?
(what score must winer reach)
3. what if there's a tie 4 second place?
4. should 1st round losers be ofered a repassage?
5. how come zapple is not here yet?
6. should gll points be enabled on tournament?

Please help, I'm not even smart enough to think of questions, nor i ever meant to be answering them, where are those big thinkers from other topics? Can't belive this lack of enthusiasm :(

and I dont mean you tank:wink:please lets hear from someone else asap

Teams of 2.
As many rounds as there are teams, set up a bracket.
Play again.
No.
What?
What are gll points? Ignore those.

Make sure that people are DEDICATED. It feels like shit if you've set this stuff up and no one shows up. Have a standardized server config used for the tournament. You could also set if up NBA style or something, but I'm not too clear on how that works anyway. Have a sign up page. Then have a last date for signup. They should sign up as teams. I don't think there is a way you could keep noobs from pairing up and being crushed. If they do not show up to their first match, they are not interested, whoever they were supposed to play moves on and the other team is disqualified. Never, ever, any rematches... That's just what comes to mind...

Don't forget to have really strict rules, no exceptions. Also after ppl signed up give them a notice that they are in, as a reminder (ask for email!) .

And btw, you probably won't find a server where less than half of all the ppl will shout that they get horrible lag.

We tried with 4. There were two things wrong with this.
a) Too hard to make 10 international schedules to line up.
b) Not really enough people.
I say both of these from personal experience.

Ya, it is hard with the time.

 Maybe if we can stop the earth from rotation then the sun will stay in one place and we can all use the same time!!

 THEN WE CAN MAKE IT WORK!

you could also reconsider changing name lol
no problem for time zones, i sugested servers as well, both exellent, khm hope goshdarn up soon, and complaints.. theres allways gonna be some
I was thinking about players tournament, no teams at all, why are you so stuk with teams concept? would be easier for all, as well
Rules? what rules? could you be more specific? lets see a draft of some rules, and how you implement them?

Spamming is not the same as dedication. The whole point of a tournement from our original perspective was co-operation, and that it's something you don't do very often... Something different requiring new strategies and new skills. Using more effort and being more challenging. Or at least that's why I think teams...

well, quoting entire previous post only to coment it with two words is waste of space and time dus spaming
as for teams yes it would be cool, but can all teams stay together?can you rely on team mates to be available for all tournaments? we should have polls about few things, but lets wait a while till we have bit sharper image of all issues
what is average round/match time on tigers gos. clone with 6-8 ppl in it?
