my wish list...

What do you want to see in Armagetron soon? Any new feature ideas? Let's ponder these ground breaking ideas...

score table

Post by iceman »

yeah fixing the (tab) score table is an easy job so that all players are listed and the dredded color code displacment sorted

can i say this again :) please find me a windows98 compatible compiler :)
and i'll fix all these little bugs, i'll even add some nice stuff to the player setup menu (like real colors ie black) even black walls if ya like

lol node, guess we were both a little muddled in out thinking when we posted those msgs.

I would love that ice but I have no pc's to spare at this time or I would gladly give one up, I run win98se and would love some custom enhancements...

<frivolity>
This is silly, really, but I would like the sparks created when grinding to last a little longer so I could watch them bounce a little on the reflective floor... Heh, that would look awesome.

I hate to say this, but that would cost you oh, say, 10-30 fps on a top of the line gfx card, like a ATI Radeon9800pro, and to have the little itty-bitty sparks mirrored too, would cost even more. This is for a fact. When I start a local game on my card, an ATI Radeon9800pro256mb, the fps is around 130, everything turned on at 1280x1024. When sparks start coming, or many, many, more walls, the fps drops down, a lot. I could go into more detail why, but it's a stupid reason which I don't feel like explaining at the moment. Maybe later on though.

Oh yeah, I knew something like this would grind my fps into the grid. The programming necessary, the cost in fps and it being something frivolous made the whole idea silly. Still, I can dream. :D

hey ice all you need is to insall linux on some pc and get coding .... it may be a steep learning curve but you won't regret it. And if you are a good programmer you will like the challenge anyway. Arma is based in *nix and to do proper developement it should be used and the best thing is its FREE!
