Well, these are the ones currently playing (well it's down now, but will be up shortly).
It depends what you like really. I like simple labyrinth style maps myself.
Some like Chico levels, others hate Chico.
Nano is a popular one too, some people hate nano.
That's the beauty of map rotation. It used to be done like this, you're welcome to modify it to your needs:
http://tron.plantpeanuts.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=42
it worked very well but was time consuming to manage new maps, etc.
It is now done using php/mysql. But I didn't write that so it's not mine to give.

Code: Select all

The 32 axis Chico Levels were good up to about 8 players. Any more than that and due to the lag caused by the sheer volume of key presses, surviving became guesswork over skill. And with a noob on your outside at the start you were usually doomed.

Now, with 16 axis it can just about handle 14 players and your initial survival rate is far increased.

Most people prefer the new Chico, myself included, especially those with higher pings. Some folk still hate it.

if you did want to use these maps, as long as all your clients had internet access, you could always

Code: Select all

RESOURCE_REPOSITORY http://plantpeanuts.co.uk/resource/

MAP_FILE ed/fortress/map_name-0.0.1.aamap.xml
My maps are your maps.

Code: Select all

RESOURCE_REPOSITORY_SERVER http://plantpeanuts.co.uk/resource/
MAP_FILE ed/fortress/map_name-0.0.1.aamap.xml
Small correction, use RESOURCE_REPOSITORY_SERVER in the newest build.

Of course, for some maps (ed should upload the rest =p), you can just set MAP_FILE...

Edit: since ed had problems uploading some maps (older DTDs), I mirrored his current repository into the official one
