That "Thugette-1.png" pin-up pinguin is very disturbing. And not in a positive fashion, at least not to me. The concept is excellent, but the rendition of the work really pinches something in me. I just hope nobody makes it their avatar ;)
Some links that I've used to get some Franco-Belgium bande dessines background:

My desktop makes you seasick when you run armagetron in windowed mode on it.
(because part of the grid floor moves, while the other part doesn't)
Anybody know if "use an external program for your background image" in KDE will let you use an opengl program?

Sabarai's fighters are:
1) The F-117A Nighthawk Stealth Fighter, accompanied by two F-16 Fighting Falcons
2) Another F-16
3) The F-22 Raptor, which is meant to be the US's all-purpose "fighter of the future"
The boy in me says, "jets are cool!" which is why I know these things. Yet, I hate their purpose for existing and what they do.

I´m always mixing up the Falcon and the Hornet.Oscilloscope wrote:Sabarai's fighters are:

So the F22 is "the JSF" right. Saw it on TV once as it landed on an aircraft carrier. Looked pretty much cool as it can use it´s - how´s the name - turbine like a Harrier.Oscilloscope wrote: 3) The F-22 Raptor, which is meant to be the US's all-purpose "fighter of the future"
Very true. And I hate our government for spending billions for buying 15(!!) new Eurofighters that won´t work or can´t fly in a sudden hight. I mean a pretty much small country like Austria surrounded by EU states and Switzerland really is in great danger.Oscilloscope wrote: I hate their purpose for existing and what they do.
We borrowed several 20 year old F 5 from Switzerland. They replaced our 40 year old Saab Draken´s

Hornet is F-18.. That one has 2 standing tailwings
(straight up, not a bit tilted like the F-14 Tomcat)
The third isn't an F-22 Raptor, but an F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. The F-22 Raptor is a bit longer and thinner..
I like planes too... I always go to airshows in Holland, and last year, my dad my brother in law and me went to Paris for the Le Bourget Airshow

Oh, F-35, ok. They look similar. My bad. So, then it's the F-35 that's meant to be the "fighter of the future" to replace the F-18 and others? Eh, whatever.
But, wait, the F-18 is the one with the tilted tail wings, and the F-14 with straight up-and-down.
I have these die-cast planes that I got in the late 80s, I guess. They're each about 8 inches long, I guess. They include the F-4, F-14 (with moveable wings), F-15, F-16, F-18, A-10, SR-71, and the B-1 (also with moveable wings). Their wheels come out and retract, and they have plastic missles and fuel (things) that attach and detach.
Again,
boy: They're so cool! Zooooom! Roooaaar!
man: Horrible death machines used to carry out bad policy, and a drain on the national treasure.

If I remember right, they're supposed to replace the venerable F-15, which is still the most advanced aircraft every built.
boy: Look at that, the Thunderbirds are practicing over my head!
man: When I was a kid, the Thunderbirds practiced over my head.
(When the bad guys don't have guns anymore, then we won't need them. It's unfortunate that while we have them, our government misuses them. That is a problem that can be fixed realistically. How you gonna take the guns away from the bad guys?)

I believe the F-15 is alreayd out of service and replaced by either the F-18 or F-22
My bad os, I always keep mixing those two
A-10: SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET MACHINE OF DEATH
SR-71: I touched one
You know, that when it's not flying, it's as leaky as a strainer... But when it's flying, the motors get heated up and the kerosine-tanks as well, so they expand just enough to seal.
F-4: Sat in one, it sucks
B-1: That's the one I'd buy if i had the money
The JSF is made in 3 different forms, one is to replace the old Harrier, one is meant to take off from aircraft carriers, and one is the basic one..
