Speaking of Monty Python, i heard an interesting rumor on it. Python the programming language was named after it, and it is encouraged to make refrences to it.

Is that utter BS? lol
Damn, it sure has been a while!

Take a look at the official tutorials and examples, they do make plenty references. So even if this was not true originally, it has been made true by now :)

It's true. The guy (who's name is escaping me) who made Python needed a name, and he happened to have Monty Python's Flying Circus on the TV at the time he was naming it (MTV reruns of it, I think, I'm pretty sure he was here in America for all this).

And yes, the tutorials are always interesting. ;)

Hmmm, worst movies....

In no particular order.

The new Planet of the Apes
the new Time Machine
Virtually anything else by Dreamworks (they've alienated me with those two movies)
The Phantom Menace
Anything with Jar Jar Binks in it
The Mummy Returns

I'm sure I'll come up with more, I've seen a lot of sucky movies.

I can top those easily "No I'm not fishing through Mystery Science Theatre 3000,) (should also be a rule for that too)

Spieldbergs first movie "Duel"
Hackers
Jersey Girl
Terror Toons ( Oh god, slay me for seeing this)
Resident Evil: Apocolypse

I can think of hundreds, but I'm drawing a blank.

PointBreak!
All 5 of the original Planet of the Apes movies Especially Escape From.

Now come on. Duel is awesome. Dennis Weaver puts in a great, tense performance. Hell, even the way he drinks water is, uh, compelling (as the movie-reviewer jargon might put it). I'd recommend it to anyone.

Point Break is rather awful. But it's not as bad as its remake, known to you as The Fast and the Furious.

I stumbled across a book where the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow is given. It's a Jules Vernes book and you can get it from Project Gutenberg (I think it's in Robur: the Conqueror, but it might be in 5 weeks in a balloon).
