Update: One of the trashed bunny rabbits was actually fine! The trash disposal system was a small underground water flow that ends on a cactus, and the rabbit got stuck in the tunnel somehow. I dug it free, Z-Girl lured it to safety and it then very quickly and deliberately hurried over to the now properly penned in crowd and hopped over the fence (they can get in, but not out). They must have some herding algorithm going on.
