ok, here's my thinking on the matter.

• There is not time within the next five days to give this issue due process and come to a decision that would be legitimate
• No subset of the community should make a decision on this. (i.e. the finalists decide)
• Because there's not time to make a decision with a just process, we should do something that prevents any precedent from being set, so that a just decision can be made for next season
• Defaulting to either the Ladle best of 3 or the suggested best of 5 would still set a precedent.
• We should flip a coin to decide between best of 3 and best of 5.

Ok, if someone wants to go in IRC and tell ljrbot ]coin, we can post the results of the flip here. Please have a witness and decide which outcome is heads or tails before flipping.

I honestly think the simplest solution would be (have been since I think it's out of the question now since the time was posted) to start it at normal ladle times. With only 8 teams, we should be able to do best of 3 up to the finals and have that be best of 5. Theoretically, it should end around the same time (if not earlier), than normal ladles.

Ladle final went from 5 to 3 for a reason & I can see some of these matches taking forever, not to mention this starts an hour later anyway. 5 might be nice for a change but not for this I don't think
In any case it needs to be decided before it's played as I don't see an easy & argue free way of the 2 finalists deciding

Ok we can just say if the finals start after <this time> then we only go to 3. Be practical.

Personally I like the idea of 3 matches to 200, but I think that's out of the question for this season. What I think is best for now is:

1. Starting at Ladle-time
2. Using a coinflip to decide 3 or 5 (And Sine should do it).

Final round will be in the US. Just a reminder, Bowl starts at 1930 GMT and we never decided if the Final will be best of 3 or 5. But with the later start, I'm thinking everyone will be too tired for 5 matches.

So, SP decided to leave right before our quarter finals when they realized their 4th player Stereo (an applicant) wasn't allowed to play. I think it sucks that it turned out like this at the last minute, when you could have resigned weeks ago and given your spot to Phoenix who really wanted to play.

It's not like we didn't have a major discussion about this very matter beforehand.


Edit: It was just very unfortunate that the SP team wasn't informed. I think we should learn from this and have an official roll call or something for the next bowl, since there aren't sign ups.
