Google AdWords, Armagetron?
Re: Google AdWords, Armagetron?
Thanks, added that key phrase and related ones. I'm still mulling over the alternative copy you suggested. I get turned off of the word "free" in advertisements, but I do like the worldwide, 24/7 aspect. I might choose to switch up the copy in a few weeks.

Glad to hear my little bit of research was of use to you. I really feel that the ability to play 24/7 with people from around the world is a real big to many people that play this game, and to our target audience is going to be a reason to check it out.
Armagetron: It's a video game that people should just play and enjoy

Update: In case any of you are curious, the ad I placed is getting clicks right up to and above what I've set as a daily limit for my budget, which comes out to several dozen over the last week. I haven't any way to know if that translates into downloads => new players, but it's interesting to think about. If there really is a substantial growth over the next few months I might consider extending the campaign (I think I have a second AdWords coupon from host lying around).

You can check the download stats yourself:

It's a bit too early to tell. A couple of dozen extra downloads would probably drown in the background noise no matter what, though.
