Heh, thanks, but that was supposed to be a facetious comment.

Something along the lines of "Just view it in IE" is not an acceptable solution. If the site requires IE, please say so when you link so we know not to waste our time with it.

Think about it. "Just drive in with a Ford" isn't an acceptable solution for a broken drive-thru lane, so why should the IE fix be acceptable on the web?

I say use IE because of the fact that it has all of the plugins ready to use and is the most compatible with everything (for better and for worse) and you all know it.
I DONT WASTE MY TIME ON PROPRIETARY RUBBISH LIKE QUICKTIME OR IE !!!!! (if you know what

Then Update your ******* plugins or quit whinning! As much as I enjoy using Firefox its not exactly the most compatible thing ever sometimes.

This is a reason why being biased about software is RETARDED.

And don't forget to throw Windows out of the window (especially because it's unusable as well).

It's not firefox that's not compatible, as a matter of fact most plugins are available for
Mozilla/Netscape, although often only for windows...

IE is the non-compatible one here: Do microsoft support Linux, solaris, OS/2, NetBSD,
or any form of UNIX (except maybe Mac OS X?) for that matter ? Are they not the
ones who use an insecure, OS-dependant architecture for plugins (AciveX)

No, my fine feathered friend, I will not use Windows or IE, just as little as you
would use DOS or lynx (which is a fine browser, just a little, ahem, nostalgic)

But, yes, I could install more proprietary plugins, if I had good reason

Actually, if I wasn't so hell-bent on wanting MPlayer to play encrypted dvds so I can be a linux criminal like the rest, I could install Mandriva's MPlayer with a certain plugin that would have pulled it off just fine. It's all those damn copyright-fascist content creators, you know, that want to police your every action whenever you click a button to make sure it's something they approve of.

I think it's high time for a 1984-style novel where the content-fascists take over and create the Big Brother establishment, not the government. (I just read one that came close, but was such a bad book overall it's hardly worth mentioning)
