A medium sized dog ~=~ 2 SUVs if kept for their respective lifetimes, on average useage.

That's rather counterintuitive, can you give a source? Is it about methane emissions? Cows would be far worse at those.

Humm, that's uncheckable without a subscription. Found an excerpt here:
http://trueslant.com/paultullis/2009/10 ... tists-say/
Looking at the numbers, they must assume the car runs on Biodiesel from Palm Oil, which has its own problems, and it probably doesn't. And in its most efficient mode and not in an inner city traffic jam and traffic light parade. It also assumes dog food meat is specially produced and not taken from the bits we humans don't like to eat and would throw away otherwise. And wheat yields (which I simply equate to cereal yields) are around 8 metric tons per hectare or one kg per 1.3 square meters, not ten times as much as they used. So yeah, I think the methods are flawed. No doubt dogs have an impact, being naturally carnivores and all, but I'd say the average human dog owner is responsible for more emissions by his food consumption alone.

(Which, yeah, leads to another point: eat less meat.)

i care about littering, but i wont pick up ppls crap....

<3 canada's enviromental system.... we have a green bin (for organix) a blue bin (general recycles) and a limit for however many garbage bags you put out (u need to buy garbage tags if u go over your limit, but they usually increase the limit on hliday weekends..) we also have a decent public transit system and every car must be tested for emmisions.
(also if a cop sees u litter or allow your dog to crap witout u picking it up, u gt a decent fine (like what dubs said). same goes for throwing crap out ur car window... i think u can get charged as well.)
if i see someone throw a bag of garbage out their window i WILL play bumper tag with them... (and dosome onroad trolling..god its fun :P)

I'm a team player, I'll gladly pick up other people's crap. The environment is more important to me.

Therefore, logic clearly dictates, there's no reason to reduce, let alone eliminate, man-made industrial carbon emissions.

(And yes, eat less meat. Or, better, none at all. Industrial "livestock" farming is immensely polluting, beyond methane release.)

Polluting is even more bizarre than you think. Some corporations have even been dumping stuff in lakes that is food for animals in the area, especially algae and bacteria. All good, right? Wrong. Even doing that will lead to a population decline over time. Just keep the environment in homeostasis, people.

The only thing I throw on the ground is apples. :D . But I have cats...Daggon it!

I don't like seeing litter. When I see people littering, it makes me think a bit less of them, but I usually don't say anything.

Since I am vegetarian, I automatically do not pollute as much as my animal corpse-loving fellow human beings. On the other hand, I really like standing under the hot shower for a long time.

Brilliant, Olive.

And is anyone shocked by Liz's response? Didn't think so. (::Predicts stupid "no one currr" animated gif spam::)

Anyway, on to the important thing:

In the right location, they make for outstanding slapstick. According to the laws of comedy, that is.

Mythbusters: Banana-Peel Slip
I don't agree with their "busted" conclusion. The Hyneman knew they were coming and was treading carefully—and with boot tread to boot (which obviously doesn't help the boot on the peel, but certainly helps steady the other boot on the floor).
