Isn't TALK_TO_MASTER and SERVER_NAME plus the USER_LEVELS the only commands needed for the servers to all be the same since they should all have default settings?

By default, yes; it certainly would be enough on my server as I don't mess with anything but autoexec.cfg myself. But keep in mind people repurpose their tourney servers and it's safer not to assume defaults. Ask the prospective other server administrators whether the servers are capable of running default settings.

To elaborate from earlier, what I was suggesting is this:
Every game distribution contains the files settings.cfg and settings_dedicated.cfg. All setting items are in there for documentation purposes with their default values. So put the contents of those files together into one and put it up as an RINCLUDE. But yes, if you want to actually do that is up to you.

only thing i touch is settings_custom.cfg (then i make a new config for each tourney and load that one someplace in there)

Thanks, I found that file that has all the settings. I guess I'll work on the wiki page soon so I am prepared when the time comes for the tourney.

I just need a nice name for this...Default Tron Tournament sounds sketchy. Any help here?

I just set the rinclude which consists of 179 commands in alphabetical order...omfg that was a pain for an hour.

I deleted some server settings that weren't needed and also had to change a couple settings for tourney use such as same IP/client commands.

Now it is time for the wiki page!
