Yeah... I'm not his dog. There is plenty with disagree about, trust me. Personally, I think genocide isn't a good reason for a holiday. I'd much rather replace Thanksgiving with something like "Moon Day" (July 21), the day man walked on the Moon. Celebrate science! Or maybe make Martin Luther King, Jr. day have much more weight. The civil right movement, after all, is much more reason to celebrate than the rights we took away from Native Americans.INW wrote:Doesn't it seem like everytime there is an arguement on these forums, a voice of reason is involoved?

It's not really that bad..Buffy the Vampire Slayer wrote: Spike: Oh, someone put a stake in me!
Xander: You gotta lot of volunteers in here.
Spike: I just can't take all this namby-pamby boo-hooing about the bloody Indians.
Willow: Uh, the preferred term is-
Spike: You won. All right? You came in and you killed them and you took their land. That's what conquering nations do. That's what Caesar did, and he's not going around saying, "I came, I conquered, I felt really bad about it." The history of the world is not people making friends. You had better weapons, and you massacred them. End of story.
Buffy: Well, I think the Spaniards actually did a lot of-- Not that I don't like Spaniards.
Spike: Listen to you. How you gonna fight anyone with that attitude?
Willow: We don't wanna fight anyone.
Buffy: I just wanna have Thanksgiving.
Spike: Heh. Yeah...Good luck.
Willow: If we could talk to him--
Spike: You exterminated his race. What could you possibly say that would make him feel better? It's kill or be killed here. Take your bloody pick.
Xander: Maybe it's the syphilis talking, but... some of that made sense.
Giles: I made a lot of these points earlier, but fine, no one listens to me.
Re: Happy thanksgiving!
are you guys really arguing about a holiday?

Re: Happy thanksgiving!
Yesh, happy Thanksgiving!
@Spin (a long time ago): Rolls, turkey, ham (mm), pumpkin pie (duh), chocolate pie (melted chocolate instead of pumpkin
), some VERY disgusting "Lemon juice", and this morning I consumed the rest of the whipped cream.

Re: Happy thanksgiving!
Why would you be? We Germans are not supposed to be offended when someone reminds us of the bad things that happened here long before we were born. Remembering all of history is important, the good bits and the bad bits equally so. Nobody is asking you to feel sorry about anything, nobody is blaming you. And either way, starting a meaningful debate would be the way to respond, not "**** off".LucK wrote:Dude sorry but really I was extremely offended by what Phytotron and sine posted.
And seriously, stop it. Adressing someone by the name they want to be addressed (unless it would be "Sir Crumpleton the Third, Holder of the Shrine of Organor, Vanquisher of all that is Unholy" or something) is the most basic form of courtesy. Not doing so, repeatedly, in spite of being asked several times, equals spitting your conversation partner in the face after every sentence. No, you're not baiting him. You're way past that point.
Re: Happy thanksgiving!
Cuz I can? If their is a holiday in Germany and someone posts good wishes on the forums I feel like you have every right to be upset if some1 started calling people nazi's and that their is no reason to celebrate an important day in your Country's past. You act as if I have no right to be upset but loufen can because I call him by the wrong name. Sorry bro but me and you don't think anywhere near the same. I was telling them to **** off of the topic because their comments were not needed.Z-Man wrote:Why would you be? I don't give a **** about loufen and he obviously doesn't give a **** about me he can call me every name in the book but I can't call him loufen. Give me a break z-man that is ludicrous at best.
Re: Happy thanksgiving!
It continues to amaze me how a community can turn something as simple as "Happy Thanksgiving!" into a top of the line spamming and trolling topic. Very impressive.

Re: Happy thanksgiving!
Two differences here: Phytotron didn't call anyone an indian-slaugthterer, it's just about remembering. And we made sure our national holidays stay clear of any pro-nazi association. Most important example: We don't celebrate the day the Wall in Berlin fell because of a date coincidence. So if someone calls me a Nazi when I show a bit of patriotism (say, during Football World Cups), I can safely assume I'll have a more valid response than you had.LucK wrote:If their is a holiday in Germany and someone posts good wishes on the forums I feel like you have every right to be upset if some1 started calling people nazi's and that their is no reason to celebrate an important day in your Country's past.
I just have one simple request to you in the interest of forum peace. If you refuse to follow it, don't expect any kind of understanding the next time you and Phytotron clash. I don't expect everyone to hold hands and sing and dance over flowery meadows, but I do expect everyone to make an effort to get along with everyone else.
Re: Happy thanksgiving!
yea loufen just had a gif to do it for him next time I will make a gif telling people to **** off for me. If you expect everyone to get along with each other then ******* go to the guy who starts most of the stuff loufen. Get off my dick and open your eyes it's not that hard to discover the real problem. Hm maybe if I came up with some clever instant chats and tell everyone how much of an idiot I think they are I wouldn't catch any static from you.Z-Man wrote:Two differences here: Phytotron didn't call anyone an indian-slaugthterer, it's just about remembering. Re: Happy thanksgiving!
Luck, calm down. I'm not going to lie, Phytotron starts the majority of arguments on here. Not to say that other people don't, but usually when I see an argument on the forums, I know who is involved. I'm sure if I acted the same way as Phytotron, I would be banned(again).
Re: Happy thanksgiving!
No part of that image is even close to "**** you" in offensiveness. The lolturkey is when it comes to stupidity, that's all. Your attempts at making it look like Phytotron started *this* particular argument are feeble and don't work. I'm out, I said my thing.
Re: Happy thanksgiving!
I didn't say **** you I said **** off big difference bro if you're going to quote me please get it right. wtf does lolturkey have to do with this forgive me I am slightly confused. How do they not work the argument stemmed from loufen posting a gif that was offensive. Peace bro gg.Z-Man wrote:No part of that image is even close to "**** you" in offensiveness. Things z-man still can't find an answer for.
How degrading a Country's holiday isn't worse than calling someone "loufen".
Why Loufen must be pleased and should never be offended.
Re: Happy thanksgiving!
I can answer this one. He wasn't degrading the country. The country degraded itself. All he did was remind everyone of the very real relationship between early settlers and Native Americans instead of the Thanksgiving fable created in it's place.LucK wrote:How degrading a Country's holiday isn't worse than calling someone "loufen".
But he did not say, "Luck you a bad person for enjoying Thanksgiving." That would be a personal attack. Nor did he tell anyone to bugger off for enjoying Thanksgiving.
Re: Happy thanksgiving!
I never said he made a personal attack on me did I nor did I say he told anyone to "bugger" off for liking Thanksgiving? hmm darn I must have blacked out when I wrote that onesinewav wrote:I can answer this one. You must also think that America deserved 9/11 huh sine? Your way of thinking will get you nowhere in life and I would say **** off again but obviously that is frowned upon on these forums so if you don't mind reading between the lines

Re: Happy thanksgiving!
Wow. Really? And what, may I ask, is that "way of thinking?" And where in life am I supposed to go exactly? I'm very curious to hear your answer...LucK wrote:Your way of thinking will get you nowhere in life...
