Like what? Keep in mind the ladle is community governed. If you want political changes or actions, call a vote. All those with any kind of admin power can do is intervene when there's spam, confusion, harassment, possibly cheating. It is sometimes painful not to be able to just ban annoying people, but it's the nature of the tournament and a part of why it has such longterm success.

Wow guys, while I'm not agreeing with what spook did, what he did only affected one person (Liz), and anyone else who chose to get involved did so.

What you have done affects ww, but also the rest of the ladle teams, who have to wade through the confusion just to know what the hells going on.

Can't vcl just change its team name before this topic turns into another pointless discussion? What happened to these proclamations that vcl would stop asking for trouble?
Seriously, there was no reason to discuss how the community deals with imposters until you started the whole crap. If all you can do is making things worse you should not play in the ladle.

Let it be known that I had nothing to do with VCL's actions and I didn't know about any of this, all I saw was Spook playing under -=Vcl.Liz or whatever and I didn't really care THAT much. Not sure how VCL found out about this, but I haven't spoken to them/don't plan on it, so just sayin'.

Case closed hopefully.

I also forgot to point out that Spook was impersonating Liz while using VcL tags (thanks for pointing that out Liz).

THE STORY TOO CATCH ALL YOU TRONNERS UP


I got on arma at like 2am and liz was also on(this i did not know)

I SAW VcL.Liz in WW sumo with WW Destiny and a couple random other ppl(at the time i did not know if it was the real liz or not)

So I went in only to find there was no VcL.liz (but now i saw spook) I ask the server "hey was liz just here" and destiny replied " You just missed her lol" and spook replied "Cody it was me lol" then he changed his name back to VcL.Liz

TBH i could care less about this, I kinda chuckled since liz told me about spook putting on Plus tags and now apparently using her name with VcL tags

At this time I think liz saw her name in the server browser and as seen in her post she didn't care.

anyways I went to bed not caring cause i thought it didn't do no harm.

Next morning I come on a pickup game and then out of NO WHERE syllabear attacks me for impostoring LIZ(this is where it starts) I first ask him wtf? and then i ripped into him and then liz defended me saying it was spook(at this point this is also how i knew liz knew)

SO i get on teamspeak and told mecca / taz / yoda and whoever else was in there, on how sylla basically jumped my ass for no reason. I told them the reason. Their response was "wait so it was spook that was using the VcL tags Not the real LIZ??) Someone had told them that Liz was using the real tags when in fact it was spook.

SO I then told them about that WW sumo story on how spook was changing his name to VcL.Liz since they thought that the real Liz was actually using the vcl tag.

SO mecca was like if destiny is fine with spook impostoring Liz then we are changing our ladle team.

You do realize the vast difference in scale, though? Tolerated impostoring of one player (and clan tag) by one person on one server during regular casual play vs. institutionalized impostoring (that's what it originally was) on many servers during a tournament important to many? A tiny bit like declaring war on a country because one of your former citizens was mugged there during vacation. Not to mention some of the people involved have a pre-history of carrying their issues to their ladle team name choice (Team Phytotron, anyone?)

I personally would like to propose a team name rule to get rid of that particular source of drama, because it will return otherwise. If at least three players of a ladle team are on the same clan, then that team is a clan team. It needs to bear the name of the clan, plus a potential suffix, which can be either Arabic or Roman numeral or Greek or Latin letter (Speeders Beta, CT C, VcL 4). If a team is composed of players from separate clans (and at least three from one), they can either play under the name of any of the clans or a name composed of the individual clan names.
Clans in the above sense need to be in existence for at least two months and have a website of some sort. Clans you were in less than one month ago still count as your clan. (No 'lol lets just create the lucifersuxx clan just for the ladle and say we're members of that')

It's just a team name. I do not understand why people are so hung up on it. This could have been avoided if Spook/Rudy/WW/Destiny took it to the source first instead of making a topic on the forums.

Just like to clarify before a potential topiclock.

I simply asked cody if he had been impostering liz, because I had heard from someone else at least that it might be cody, not to mention I potentially thought it could have been him, or any other ex-vcls.

Then he did have a go at me for this, and basically said what he said he did above, and thats pretty much all of my involvement in this case.

I knew it wasn't liz, and I did tell people it wasn't (using my powers of deduction, as the fake liz spelt colour without the correct inclusion of u)

EDIT: oh and I don't really appreciate the slander cody. I know you don't like me, and I know you normally get at people by making up stuff about them, but please don't do it about me? KTHX

I do realize the difference but It was more that Destiny(A clan leader that would probably be angry if someone would imposter one of her clan mates) was okay with spook impostoring liz. This was more of a statement if anything. I'm actually on plus and won't be playing for dliW tseW, I simply help create the idea. All in all this is not my battle to fight.
