The cooperation of big business and government, the likes of which we are seeing has also been referred to as fascism.

Fascism may be described as corporatism, at least so said Mussolini (although he tended to define fascism however he found rhetorically useful, like most people).

But anti-trust and regulation of the market are not cooperation. Legalised bribery through campaign contributions, corporate lobbying including the drafting of legislation, revolving doors between corporate boardrooms and government positions, corporate subsidies and tax breaks (a.k.a., corporate welfare), zoning exceptions, legislation to protect business against civil suit, to force privatisation of public works, to allow the patenting of seeds and genes—are but a few actual examples of cooperation between big business and government.

Glenn Beck makes shit up and doesn't know even half as much as he thinks he does.

Indeed, the whole idea behind anti-trust laws and regulating the market is to protect its free nature.

Funny you should mention that. I find Glenn Beck to be "controlled opposition", and a poser. The cooperation you mention, Phytotron, is exactly the kind I was thinking of! Funny you should mention that. I find Glenn Beck to be "controlled opposition", and a poser. Personally, I think the False Left/Right paradigm is exactly that, FALSE.

I would describe him as more out of control than controlled, but I think I get what you're getting at.

Glenn Beck used to be a morning DJ here in the '80s. At the time he was mostly apolitical. He was instead known as an off-color, unfunny jerk. Or, as Terry Meiners put it, "Glenn Beck was over-the-top childish from Day One, a punk who tried to make a name for himself by being disruptive and vengeful." And what was his main feature? Doing characters. There's a description of his stay here on this page. Search the page for WRKA to jump to it.
