For once, Phytotron and I agree. I'll take the Sam Adams, but I order Shiner Bock most of the time. Occasionally I'll go for Ziegenbock when I need to save some money and still want to drink beer, but those two are usually the same price at the gas station. $0.50 difference at the bar.Phytotron wrote:Maybe not, but it's honest and amusing, at least to me.ItzAcid wrote:All of those negative adjectives to describe these beers aren't really necessary, Phytotron.
Maybe not, but enough of any kind of beer turns anyone into an idiot.A certain beer doesn't define a person as an idiot

Ah yeah, having lived in Europe for so long I'd forgotten that you can buy beer pretty much everywhere in the US. (Not that you can't get it most everywhere in the UK, but it is state only in Sweden.)BoxeD wrote:You can buy beer at gas stations in america?

The weirdest I've found so far, besides the fact that liquor stores in Washington are all state-owned, is Kansas. In Kansas, beer sold in gas stations is weak, like 3.2% ABV. If you want the full dose, you have to buy it at the liquor stores.BoxeD wrote:You can buy beer at gas stations in america?
What was even weirder was the long lines of people buying beer in Kansas gas stations.

Re: Beer
Not only by state, but by county or municipality as well. There's quite a bit of variation, some of it odd. And, of course, this includes many "dry" and "moist" counties: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dry_countydlh wrote:It's varies by state.BoxeD wrote:You can buy beer at gas stations in america?

Malt liquor is, in fact, a type of beer. Pilsener is also a type rather than brand—and not unique to, or even originating in, Germany.
