I love how we can have constructive arguments without any cheap shots.
Re: WST "tips".. players read here.
Gonzap: Luck and INW were actually busy commentating on the finals with voice on teamspeak, that I recorded along with visuals. That'll explain why they didn't pay attention anymore.

This makes no sense.Lizmatic wrote:As we saw with the happy tron friends, 3v2 is a major advantage if you have 2 great players like Punish and Rudy. Less zone space to share, and less points to give to the other team, so the admins of WST are gonna make 3 people mandatory. For the next times, can we please use our own names? It was fun to play under an alias one time, but the whole teams list was a joke, and it was very hard in the finals to see who was winning.. so, please?
Comments welcome. ^^
If 3v2 is an advantage, why not have someone suicide at start? Or why not make it 2v2?
Less zone space to share? The zone space doesn't change when you add or drop a player, it remains constant. Besides, no one says the third person has to have some part of the zone to share.
Less points to "give"? This assumes that the third person is going to be killed and not kill anyone, which is just stupid.
Judging by the tone of her posts, it sounds like Lizmatic is too involved with the in and outs of the tourney to participate. Why not offer your skills off the grid, Liz? Luck, Mecca, and Spin didn't participate did they? I commend you all for putting on this tourney, but it would probably be best to hammer out some of the details, otherwise stupid arguments are going to come up more often. I know it's silly, but my suggestion is to somehow designate an admin for each round and have concrete guidelines in place for how they will moderate the server so that participants can expect a clean, organized, and smooth tourney.
Re: WST "tips".. players read here.
The tournament ran perfectly, so, I don't see your point. This topic was my personal opinion and after that the announcement that 3 people would now be mandatory, thats not a harsh rule at all seeing as it shouldnt be hard to get 3 people and like I said it IS a 3v3 tourney.

It's difficult to come across as neutral with you Liz. I'm not trying to flamebait. You posted this speaking for the admins of the tourney with comments welcome, so yeah, if my comments bait you flamingly - bummer.
No aliases next time?
Having 3 players will be mandatory in the next tourney?
Have Spin, LucK, and Mecca (or whoever puts on the tourney) already made the decisions on these things? If so, let's hear from them.

Ok I will actually respond to the whole thread this time.apparition wrote:This makes no sense.Lizmatic wrote:As we saw with the happy tron friends, 3v2 is a major advantage if you have 2 great players like Punish and Rudy. It was me who originally said that I thought 2v3 was unfair liz just agreed with me. Me and Spin had already decided to make it 3 player mandatory for the tourney. It's simple if your whole team doesn't show up get a replacement don't play a man down it makes it unfair. Why should a team who has all 3 of their players have to make one go spec just because the other team couldn't get their shit together?
As far as the administering goes I think mecca did a great job. Simple as this if you want to talk use /team I don't care if the round is over we don't want anybody to distract the players.
About the aliases not much we can do we won't nor can we make you use legit names we just encourage you to.
Now you guys were upset with the admins. I was upset with the spectators you guys were acting like dicks. Most of you were asking to be silenced and were encouraging others to do stuff that would get them silenced. You guys argued about pointless shit the whole tourney.
Re: WST "tips".. players read here.
Because I communicate with LucK and INW on Teamspeak, and the 3 people mandatory was already gonna happen, I simply made a discussion topic. As you may notice if you actually read what I said, I REQUESTED from the other teams not to use aliases anymore, doesn't mean you have to listen to me.
Flamebait all you want.
Watch my careface.

Look at it.

If you think playing 2v3 gives an unfair advantage in team sumo, just turn the sumo zones into fortress zones so that the number of players directly affect the outcome.
Re: WST "tips".. players read here.
No we are playing with 3 minimum players. Problem solved

Re: WST "tips".. players read here.
I totally agree with Appa i don't think it is an advantage for the 2man team against 3 players.
If it did seem like an advantage then the teams that had 3 players probably didn't play smart.
They could have easily assigned only 2 players to sumo in the zone and the 3rd player could have attacked the enemy from outside.
I dont see how the 2man team in this situation has an advantage over the 3man team.
Also the 2man team gets less speed on the opening grind as well.

Re: WST "tips".. players read here.
Well the tourney was originally suppose to be a 3v3 war sumo match-off so we r making it that way. I'm sure in the future rules may change and the community might decide on things, but until further experiments; we r locking it at 3v3.
And if someone leaves ur team...that makes it 2v3...not much u can do there but play...I say just go with the flow. (:

Re: WST "tips".. players read here.
Whoever said that 3v2 had a huge advantage obviously did not play in our shoes. The extra player gave the other team that extra notch off speed and right from the getgo of every round we were forced to start with the smaller amount of zone. Every single match punish and I had to find new ways to reach center without getting completely squeezed off. The reason we won those matches is because we know how to manage space and play alongside eachother. If I could I would definitely have played with another player, and we we're really glad when BeanerTron finaly showed up because it gave us the chance to breathe a bit and attack for once.
Also, while we are on the topic of WST "tips" it would be interesting to talk about various "sling-shot" moves that required 3 people, in which the center player or side player would zoom out with immense speed at the split. I know we used one, and the "ROMFL" team used one as well, its extremely useful in getting that quick speedy kill at the split.

Re: WST "tips".. players read here.
I mean this is how we feel. I honestly don't know why this topic was even made. It's a 3v3 tourney and next tourney we will be enforcing that as a rule. As far as you guys go you may feel like 2v3 was a disadvantage but I feel like it was an advantage. We are trying to keep this tourney 100% fair and with any differences in the team whether it be 4v1 4v2 3v2 or 3v1. It's a 3v3 tourney and if your team can't show up then don't sign up we allow u to have 2 subs for a reason.
Re: WST "tips".. players read here.
I really don't think having a mandatory 3 player rule accomplishes anything but rule out a 2man team and giving a bye to the opponent of that team, which also creates an advantage to the team that gets a bye.Luck wrote:. It's a 3v3 tourney and next tourney we will be enforcing that as a rule
I mean i think i explained why 3man team already has an advantage over a 2man team if they play it right. Why give them a further advantage by giving the 3man team a bye and take away the privileges of the 2 guys on the 2man team to play with this rule?
Re: WST "tips".. players read here.
Okay we don't want this rule to handicap teams we just want to encourage people to sign up teams that they are sure are going to make it. I can understand if like one person can't make it but if u have 5 players signed up and only 2 make it there is no reason that team should have been signed up in the first place. I was thinking about having it so we just have people who don't have a team or are late to sign up fill slots for teams that have less than 3. As far as disqualifying a team for having 2 players I don't think that will be the way we enforce it.
