I think I saw mirrors in the video ;) I love them but they slow the game way too much.
Also please consider using different textures :)

Free cam is too static. It's great for analysis of the tactics, teamplay and the game, but most newbs will fall asleep after 5 minutes. External is the best one, but it should be placed much lower, so you can see more grid.

Why different textures? Make suggestions. I only accept moviepack folders. :P

Ok so we'll be covering Ladle #33, Sinewav - I would say your attendance is mandatory and not optional :D

Stream is diaried for the 2nd May, We will be covering the semi finals to finals.

I have made a request to show all 3 games (both semis with a delayed start and finals), so hopefully this will happen.

OK. Also, I have some questions on your setup. 1) What microphone/headset do you use? 2) What codec/quality do you use?

Thanks.

I'm happy to fill the role of play-by-play announcer, but it would be helpful to have someone around for player statistics and scores from concurrent matches. In professional broadcasting, personalities are fed a near constant stream of information to relay (and in sports, a lot of it relates to things not shown to the audience). It's a huge job, and the work of an entire production team.

So, the more the merrier.

sine.wav your mic quality was already really good, I hope you take my suggestion to make it push-to-talk though. I heard you breathing, eating and drinking the entire time. :P Also, nsh22 I would have no issues with you being on there but your mic SUCKS. It was aweful to hear that noise. :( Just a tip: better mic and if you don't know what you're talking about for sure 100%, then just don't say it and ask in IRC first.

Anyways good luck and I will be recording the finals + shoutcast again.

I think you should try to explain how the game works a bit more. Rules, rubber, grinding, why they all join center and other stuff. Of course not everything at once :)

A bit of Ladle idea, history and statistics would be nice too.

And whoever will be doing the job - please please explain what's going on, just simple things like where is the player heading to, what is he trying to do, etc. I bet most outsiders couldn't tell what's going on for most of the time :P

I have a few suggestions:

-You should start the shoutcast a minute before the game starts. In this time you could state the teams that are playing, maybe a brief backstory to both teams. You could also say the rules to the game and say what the ladle is.
-It would be great if the shoutcasters talked about what is on the live stream instead of what was just on their own screen. I think it would be best if they controlled it themselves but they could also just watch wherever the recorder was going.
-Sine has to keep on doing it. I agree with forecast that it's mandatory. :)
-I agree with what sine said, it would be great to have someone for player stats and scores from previous matches. I guess they could also get facts from previous ladles and say them on screen. (i.e. SP has won the Ladle three times in a row for the first time ever and now is going for it's 4th)
-(insert good suggestion here)

I'd be willing to put together fact sheets for the broadcasters to reference

We wanted to but people started before we joined the server so we had to throw that in the beginning of the match :/

I don't know about you guys, but I'll be in the finals, so I won't be able to participate in the Shoutcast 8)

Since we don't know who will be in the semi-finals/finals, it might be a good idea to give teams the option to submit some info to specifically be used in the commentary in addition to stats and scores compiled by players like Concord. This would have many benefits... I heard that some players were nervous about the commentary while they were playing in the L32 finals. This might help with that issue by at least letting the players know a little bit about what's being talked about and how they're represented. I'm not saying they should give sine.wav a script, just some info that sine can't come up with on his own.

For example, country of origin. How interesting would it be to give the information that CT-Alpha is comprised of 3 players from Spain (Zap, B3er, Puuquie), and one each from the USA (Woned), Hungary (Xyron), and France (K-Yo).

Good idea appa. Also, pronunciations would help. Send me (or Concord) whatever you got.

owned, I'll try to follow your suggestions. However, I can't watch the shoutcast and comment on it; I'll need to use my local copy. I have crap Internet and can't easily stream video (everything I watch needs to buffer for, like, an hour). It's amazing I can even play Arma with my connection, seriously. It's pretty much dial-up.

nsh22, you should take your standing mic and build it into a headset like I did (pictured below). Actually, I probably won't use my "headset" mic to do commentary; I'll bust out my Samson C01U. And I'll be sure to set it up so you don't hear me breathe (I didn't check my TeamSpeak settings before the last shoutcast. I literally installed it and joined the broadcast seconds later.
