We spend some time every month running through Google and other search engines to find threads like this, where, we can clear up any questions you may have.

Thanks,

There's only one other forum in which I participate (I won't specify). One time, in response to a query, I listed some local independent stores of a certain type, with brief descriptions and reviews. Not two days later I received a PM from the manager of one of these shops giving me a pitch in defense of it and asking me to give the place another shot, presumably in hopes that I would amend my somewhat negative review with something more positive. He even left his name, phone number, and email. Never made a post on the forum.

Mind you, the forum in question isn't the least bit locally-oriented, and in fact has international users. Nonetheless, understandably, even one post on a forum can have an influence on the reputation of a business, what with Google and all. And with small, local independents, that can have a significant effect.

My store keeps tabs on the word online, too. :)
