[this post isnt meant to be taken offensively, so, dont take offense.]

Lets see who thought of this..

"Me, Flex, Vanhayes and pavelo, all thought that maybe it would be a good idea to go back to having ladles every other month."

Pretty "inactive" players, right? Don't see them a lot, and only around the ladle. I bet a lot of the more active players wouldn't change it, neither would I, ladle once a month works fine. I'm gonna vote against this.

Fear of the ladle being devalued perhaps? It has been every month for some time now...if there is demand it will happen and teams that don't want to just won't enter
What happened to those much needed global mods everyone was craving btw? Or did I miss something

Although I hope there's not too much discussion and/or things to vote on..

Looks like I'm a global, but I can't be in all servers at once all of the time. But I am on IRC and can react to emergency calls there. Also, unfortunately, admins don't have the power to change access level problems, access level settings are owner only.

That is one of the reasons why I gave owner to Z-Man in all my Ladle Servers, for this Ladle, and all future Ladles.

Yeah, but it didn't exactly work :) I was "only" Administrator when I logged in for the finals.

Fixed...I hope. Could you please, at your earliest convenience, go to the server and log in to verify?

:D Something tells me people will lose interest in sumo tournaments after you win 5 or 6 of them in a row. (on top of the long list you have in your signature)

@Vogue: I agree with you, the players mentioned in the first post are relatively inactive players that I rarely see if there is not a competition in progress.

Every other month , 6 a year, seems prudent considering all the setup required for this event. Probably would be more enjoyable to everyone if the Ladle was spaced out every other month.

Either Concord or Sine once mentioned to me a short lived four player per team fort league. Whether this was played in a 4 base fort arena or in 2 base I'm not sure. Possibly this could be the type of event functioning between the Ladles. Summer/Winter Olympics FTW.

So; every first sunday of every even-numbered month: a ladle, 6v6,
and every first sunday of every odd-numbered month: a 4v4 fort tourney similar to the ladle?

or

every first sunday of every even-numbered month: 6v6 ladle,
and every first sunday of every odd-numbered month: a 4v4v4v4 tourney with TST-like brackets?

I'm not buying it either way. Ladle every month works fine.

no offense really taken, and please don't take this too offensively, but I don't believe that all of us are "inactive". I consider Pike, Flex, sinewav, myself and server admins a huge backbone to the ladle. Pike resets the challenge board, me flex and sinewav set the brackets each month. Myself and other server admins then setup the servers each month. Don't take this as a complaint either, I do like doing this. So even if that is not "active", its still a large part of the ladle. And to have a 2nd or 3rd potentially large tournament in a month takes quite a bit of time getting the servers ready for that.

But my post more or less comes from that fact that there are other things. Most can say that ladle and fortress premier league was too much for a month. These other things may not be the so called "hottest ticket in town" but they still should obtain a time slot. People want a CT wild dogfight tournament, but i feel that my extra time I could be spending working on that goes into getting the ladle servers ready to go. I think we would get a larger turnout of teams if it were every other month, maybe even reaching a true bowl. I know we have grown a bit each month lately but i think there would be more growth if it was not every month.

My other argument would be, open teams would have more than 3-4 weeks to get ready for the next ladle. They would have a lot more time to prepare and be able to raise the bar on the competition.

Are we going to adjust the ladle starting time to summer time?

oh?! What exactly goes into getting the ladle servers ready? I thought you just had to rinclude the settings?

Maybe someone could post a step by step guide or something for things like resetting the challenge board, and setting the brackets so other players could do it.

Ladles are every 4-5 weeks, shall we just make it 6/7?

that seems like a good compromise
