Hmm... we didn't even have Ladle last January, unless these dates are wrong:

February: Ladle 18
January: ???
December: Ladle 17

I searched the forum for a reason and couldn't find one. But there was a lot of action going in back then too: TST, Fortress Brawl, and some slight drama with Monkey. I think everyone was just tired.

Now that I look at it, there was no Ladle in January of 2008 either. But the AFL had just ended in December...

Oh wow, for a January Ladle we have to go all the way back to the 7th Ladle on the 7th of January in 2007!

:stubble: Well, let's not get into a bad habit here, OK? ...Oh, and keep the date please. You know you'll just be sitting around that day playing Arma anyway. Don't lie son, I can see right though you.

I mean there's always Jan 10th...

We could also do an american bracket and a european to make the times more convenient and then play the final on Jan 10th. Or something

I would say keep it to tradition, we had over a year to debate this and it's just coming up a few weeks before the date. It should have been decided on our last voting thread.

Tradition seems to say that there isn't even a ladle in January at all :/

No, there were several unrelated and different reasons that have caused January Ladles to be skipped in the past. Tradition says nothing on it.

It seems like week later is the best option.

On a slightly unrelated note, I think we should have one ladle where the teams are made up of nationalities rather than clans/teams, a bit like Team Poland did in the last ladle.

If there's loads of players for one country (say England for example), we can make two Team England teams. If there's not enough players to make up a team (like that Australian player whatever his name is) there could be a team of misfits etc. America could have like east & west coast teams?

Maybe not for ladle 29, but it could be a fun idea? We could do it in sync for the world cup, that'd be funny :)

I am still going to take what we decided in the Country-based fortress topic and make a wiki page for signups, etc. I just have been very busy with other things. As I see it, we have a Ladle and TST coming up. So, signups in January for a competition in Feburary.
