If you give me settings to test I could put them on the bugfarm server.

Or how about this? Maybe we can have a mini-tournament in a week of two where we test out either LIMIT_TIME or a single 200 point match? You know, like have 4 teams get together and see how it works.

Another idea is, since ~|DS|~ Mega-Fort is all the rage now, maybe some of us with admin privileges there can suggest we try out some settings when the server is full, to get some feedback? /me is not an admin there, but I know they handed out a lot of authority at one time...

And I only suggest LIMIT_TIME and "single 200 point match" because those seemed to be the more popular options, along with being easy to try out.

Any thoughts?

We can run it as starter for the pickup channel. It's pretty much ready, and I was able to run real world testing of the bot on an actual pickup channel and it proved to be pretty stable. I also have a server ready to run in EU (on café).

PS: however I'm not sure if a 6v6 game is really doable.

This is all relative bullcrap, because it is avoiding the main issue. Which is enforcing timely starts.

Just disqualify anybody who shows up more than 5 seconds late.

Not true. Timely starts are just part of the Ladle "time issue." For instance, what if your match starts late because the other team was still in competition? Three matches can take much longer than 45 minutes to complete even when they start on time. This isn't bullcrap, and these discussions are having real, meaningful effects.

If you want to contribute, come up with a reliable way to "enforce" timely starts. We're all glad to hear it.

I read only conditional sentences. If, can and so on.
Funny that 99% of the incidents were caused by the usual 10-20 minute delay.

Enforcing is rather easy. Players should be in the server at least 3 minutes before start. The match the starts without delay (barring technical difficulties, which SHOULD not happen if the server would be set right).

Now for cases of delay:
- One team not prepared = loss or playing with available players.
- Both teams start late = match will be cut either 5 minutes before next starts or when all others are finished using matchscore and points at next round end (special case draw, next kill wins)

A timelimit should be discussed in a whole other context, because it would lead to a slightly different game.
