I think we should have a 3rd place match. I also think that considering the tourneys grandeur, all matches excluding the finals and semis should have 3 matches, the semis should have 5, and the finals 7.

Never again should a best-of-7 be played. Been there, done that. It took forever, literally. We had to take a break after the 5th match because everyone was exhausted. I'm referring to the AFL finals.

oh yeah, I remember watching it. Just like the fff matches. They took forever. So I'm with concord.


So two things left

1.Seeding?
2.Should tourney be on one day, two opposite Sundays, or Saturday and Sunday?

I think very loose seeding, put the past for different ladle winners at opposite ends, teams 1,16,17,32 (keeping in mind two 16 team brackets).

I'm still in favor for one sunday, but then again even late matches end at 5:00 PM for me. The current schedule has it ending at the same time as all other Ladles, the concern is a back up of matches going past 45 minutes pushing that semifinal & final to far, right?

I'm going to remind y'all about the idea of the pool real quick.

The idea is short matches against a few people, and you use them to seed the elimination tournament. So you might split the teams up into groups of 4, have them each play one match against everyone in their pool, then trim out the lowest scorers (to reach a target number of entrants to the tournament) and sort the rest by rank in their pool.

The pool round should last the same amount of time (provided server availability) for 10 teams as it does for 1000000000000 teams. How long it lasts depends on how its setup, so it could be 10 minutes, or it could be 3 months.

even the world cup has seeding-we would need 4 seeds since we will probably have 4 groups.

Sounds cool, though we need to get our academy working if we want to do something like this, we'll need all the members we can get.
