If you need something fast, i can change edd's splashscreen so it still resembles what we had. The URL was already in it?

Oh, yeah sure. I'm not sure which version you are going to include so.. that's why there's two.

Hi all!
Sorry to have kept quiet in this, it took me a while to make my mind. Hurray for Armacycle Advance!!!
Nice work from Lackadaisical for the new splash screens.
Just a question, should do the same move with the project (rename it to Armacycle Advanced) for the same purpose, or risk splitting the community and expose us to the same situation Fedora wants to avoid?

Canis meus id comedit.
Well, I'm personally interested in distancing ourselves from Disney as much as possible, but let's not get in the trap of thinking some ultra-conservative corporation (even if they love free software) gives the direction to go.philippeqc wrote: Just a question, should do the same move with the project (rename it to Armacycle Advanced) for the same purpose, or risk splitting the community and expose us to the same situation Fedora wants to avoid?

I don't think having a slightly different name in Fedora is going to split the community, and mostly I think this is a non-issue brought about by knee-jerking bloodsucking lawyers, but what do I know?

yea, yea, yea, I know I'm chiming in a week or 2 late......at least I came back again.
I think as long as people using Fedora can find the proper website (thats where the URL comes in on the splash screen), and they enjoy the game, they will just install the next release from us REGARDLESS OF THE NAME. (I know I would)
On another note, I'm glad to see AA (what ever that stands for
) showing up in another distro (I think it was in Mandrake too).

Maybe someone (sorry tank, but i guess this means you
) should update the website so it contains some kind of notice about the different name. Referring to Armacycles on the website would also help people find the right website (instead of this forumthread) if all they did was remember the name.

Any update on this? Just didn't see any notice on the site.
I just installed 'armacycles'
to take a look hehe. Anyways except the web address on the splash page I wouldn't blame someone for thinking they are two are different games (without playing them).
Maybe have a different page/domain for armacycles that explains and then redirects to the main site?
Also it might help in getting new players if the package comes under the games & entertainment section in the package gui. It appears in the list but I think if someone was looking for a game they would just go to the game section. (Not that this can be fixed here, just thought I'd mention it)
At least the yum folks with armacycles get all the dependency issues solved for them -.- I prefer getron though

I originally read this as "gltron" and thought "What is that idiot doing here?"HoAX wrote:I prefer getron though
