What you probably really want to know has already been answered: edit your configuration file and add

Code: Select all

DEDICATED_IDLE 0
, this will keep the server up. I'm not a Windows guy, so I don't know how you can make it so that the server always starts when the machine is booting up.
is there a way i can save my server on dedicated??

Read
the
documentation
or
at
least
the
included
config
files,
they
have
some
instructions.

And Jonathan's # comment means that at the time he posted it, his total number of posts was exactly the year in which he was born.

You know what? We want to help you, but you're wanting someone to hold your hand. Nobody here has the time or inclination to hold hands with someone over the internet. You need to be able to find stuff on your own. You need to be able to do things like read the Start menu entries for arma, use Explorer (or some other directory browser) to look around the regular installation directories, use a simple text editor, etc.

You need to be able to self-learn. This isn't just for arma, all over the world self-learners are advancing and supporting themselves and getting annoyed at having to hold hands with people who won't self-learn. We're not going to set up your server for you. There's a wiki link at the top of every forum page (which I guess you haven't seen and I assume you haven't looked for it). There's a set of very powerful search engines that almost always take you to the portion of the arma docs you need (provided it exists and you use the search engines). You have yet to ask a question that isn't answered on the wiki or in the included documentation, so why should we hold your hand? If you're too lazy to use resources already available (which we have worked pretty hard to *make* available), you're probably not going to do the things we ask directly.

Please, make sure you actually use existing resources before coming here and asking for hand-holding. When something's hard, or very complex, we're very supportive. But when it's basic stuff that we've already poured hundreds of our own hours into making it possible for a self-learner to do it, don't waste our time or yours.

There are 2 applications: the client and the dedicated server. When you use the dedicated application, the server _IS_ dedicated. There is nothing to be saved about this state.

Or if you really don't want to deal with all the complexities of hosting a server yourself, and want to just stick with changing game settings, you can get a hosting plan with me: http://lightfoot.dashjr.org

aaahh but if i bolted a yamaha 600 engine onto my hog particle i could hack around the universe pulling space wheelies till i found it and spend the rest of eternity wondering why he hadent put any rubber on it !!
i just love it
