The best solution is to let people run servers the way they want without complaining about it. You either like the server made available to you, or you don't. If you like to play open, or like to be vocal about playing open or whatever, and you don't feel able to do that in shrunk, move on to another server, there are plenty to choose from.

What is it, that makes you guys so frightened of players that ask for open matches? This is not supposed to be an open/close discussion, it's just about the behaviour of the admin. It's about people getting kicked just because of asking the others for a different gameplay. And in that case, if you dont want it, dont play open. thats all. No kick needed.

Actually, it's yet another thread where a player says "THis admin is crap", and the admin says "this player is crap". It's just not so obvious the admin has said this. You've basically just hit a wall of support for joe. It's not like he's just some punk kid that started playing this game a few months ago and happens to have made a friend who runs a server. Joe's been kicking around here for years, run a few fine servers of his own, and has known swampy for years. So, here you come with "Joe is a Badmin!" and nothing to show for it. Why does it surprise you we don't believe you're telling us the whole story?

ok, i just play for a year or so and didnt knew joe yet. but what i saw was telling me: joe is an admin-kid. If not, it is ok. i dont want all people here to believe me. nobody has to do that.
the only thing i want is, that some admins go and think a bit on their own. no matter, if anoybody else believes what happened or not, the admin knows what he has done.
And i say, this behaviour is killing the fun. And perhaps some of you people have an eye on who is kicked while they play, so you will know it too. And, perhaps, you will say that it is wrong. So, perhaps, there will be a change - i hope that.

The other thing I forgot to say in my last post is that Swampy, the owner of shrunkland, doesn't read these forums a whole lot. He goes through phases where he'll read and actually post some, and then not read for a long time. So if you really want to try to resolve this, and he is the guy you need to talk to, you need to PM him. These wild posts about how <this person> or <that person> is an admin are never productive, without exception, while talking to the admin directly might actually help.

Alright look, you seem really hell bent on this. So I'm going to respond with other than a mspaint picture.
To be honest I don't really remember what happened. I tend to make sure this game doesn't actually affect my life other than when I'm playing the game. because of this, I unfortunately don't remember your name on the game so I can't really decide if you're some poor soul who was kicked, or if you're some jerk who has nothing better to do and is mad because you can't force people to play your made up rules anymore.

Since I don't remember you. It could very well have been another mod at the server, who is happening to kick people for the same reason, and if thats the case, take it up with them since they're the ones who kicked you.

However, when it comes to the rule of kicking the people who apologize for accidentally sealing a wall, its a precautionary kick. Just about every time someone who is apologizing for not playing by their own rules will then later get mad at those who seal on them, which is when they go buck wild on the other player for sealing on them, this is isn't fun for anyone, so it's best to nip it in the bud.

Thats why it's a kick. They can come back. It's not that big of a deal. Thats the purpose of kicks. To just let them know "Hey, obviously what you're doing here is wrong, so you should probably stop" and if it continues, thats when we ban because the person obviously didn't get it the first time around.

You want to be able to ask people to not seal on each other. Unfortunately, no. You can't. Thats the idea. We don't want it to continue. If you're that determined to play like that, there is a PM system that you can use to talk to a player and ask if he wants to play like that with you. But otherwise we don't want it continuing. We don't like the drama thats involved with it. We want it to make it so everyone can have fun there, and not just the crazy no sealing people. You can easily play that way without being vocal about it. We don't care for them.

If that's a problem you cannot live with. Go some place else, or play like that when none of the mods are in the room. Otherwise sorry, we're going to continue stopping the very loud anti-sealing players from playing.
