MAP SOFTWERE (WICH ONE IS THE BEST)

Designed a level that creates new, exciting, and challenging Armagetron game play? Or maybe just something funky. Put it right here.

What's wrong with designing maps in HTML? It means you can easily fit your maps in boxes of different dimensions (like a browser window), and you could use borders of elements as walls. Just need a converter.

Good idea, would also add a lot of great things:
  • Frames. Ever wanted to have multiple servers in one? Now you can.
  • Images. Finally custom textures
  • Pop-up menus using the CSS :hover pseudo-class. Enter a box and have a huge popup slam that other player
  • Javascript. Finally you can get moving walls, you can even use google mail from within arma! Enjoy having strangers drive around your personal mailbox
  • Flash. Woo! Fancy animations and sound all the way, not to mention browser games.
  • wiki.armagetronad.net. Yay, now you can FORCE newbies to read through the documentation by navigating their cycle through it
Someone's GOT to implement this.

You *can* make the map in dreamweaver, and it'll probably do some syntax highlighting whie you're at it. :)

you can but all it does for you is highlights the code syntax for you. only nice if you make a lot of stupid mistakes.

Now (ie. before you complete your map an are eager to share it with the world) would be a good time to ask Luke to create an account for you on the resource repository!

http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ ... acosx.html for 10.3. "Mac OS X 10.3 through 10.3.9" "Note 10.4 customers can install X11 by using the Tiger DVD installer disk." So if you have 10.4 you're stuck if the old download doesn't secretly work.

still not having x11 is getting annoying. and i can't download it, its to big, it'll blow our quota away. Or get it of the macosx install disk because i don't have it..... :x :x :x
43.23 megs is to much??? what kind of low space computer do you have?

BTW: X11 for Tiger PPC

i use inkscape to map the only thing that i would love to find out is how to move the 0,0 to the canter of the map.
the only issue with illustrator is that you cant make the zones in it. you can only do this in inkscape or by hand.
