How is giving the USA multiple teams a disadvantage for everyone?
You split the skill in the country therefore creating multiple okish teams.

You guys should favor multiple USA teams if you're thinking like that.

It was never about giving a country an advantage or disadvantage - intending to do either would be unfair - it is about staying true to the idea of an international cup to find out what country is the best.

If you split a country in half so more can play, you lose that idea. If people want to play, why can't they can join a public server, rather than corrupt a competition?

also- why am I team leader? For the sake of the team it would probably be better if someone with more experience took my place.

How did you pick team leaders? Where is team NL?

I'll create the forum categories within the next few days.

Just for people's information, I'm not going to play for team misc. Scandinavian or Nordic is as far as I'd stretch.

I think that it is ridiculous to assert that splitting the USA ruins the purity of this competition. This isn't the Olympics or World Cup Soccer. This is a videogame that people from all across the "Western World" play. In that context, it is a very small community. If you look at the lineup, there are only a few players that are from the west of the Mississippi River. Culturally speaking, in the real world, there is quite a difference from the East to the West in the United States of America. By only having one East Coast team you are keeping to the purity of this concept.
Armagetron: It's a video game that people should just play and enjoy :)

The US should be split into parts. Europe as a whole is more compact than the United States. Even if the US was split into four parts, that would still be a larger area per zone than that of four European countries. If anything, It should be separated by time zones (the four parts). If the selected time zone, such as central does not have enough players to fill a roster, they can merge like teams such as hispanics, etc.

Since so many of you are unwilling to have more than one US team, I suggest that we still split the players up into groups. They will play two best of 5 match's. Whichever group wins should compete in the tournament. This way, players actually are playing to make the tournament, and everyone gets to play, while there will be just one main team in the tournament.

Oh I missed NL, damn. Randomizing will force two teams to play 45 minutes prior to the rest. Editing my post with teams now with Team NL.

How about if you look at your post where you say put their most realistic/preferred country first(Switzerland) and then their alternates second to this(Ireland,France/USA south or East)

Problem? Don't think so.

EDIT: after looking at the swiss team, I don't wanna be involve with them. besides I only lived in Switzerland when i was like 4. SO

Country: Ireland/Italy/USA(EAST)

fixed*
