Sinn, I can't speak for the group, but I am a little shocked by your comments. What I got from them was this: Racism isn't going anywhere, we're all a little racist, it's not a big deal, so just get over yourselves.

This thread is about racism. There is no dividing it into hard and soft (acceptable) racism. You seem to think this problem is perpetual and will never change. I don't see it that way. I see it as something we, as a species, CAN grow out of - and will, even if it takes a dozen generations or more. But it starts with us, now.

And there is no such thing as "reverse racism." It's just racism. Reverse racism is called altruism.

I understand your post sine and I appreciate the way you came across with it. I do think we can grow out of it, but like you said, it will take generations and by then the only way it will be gone is because of interacial breeding, meaning one day we will all be similar or around the same color. I know this might sound dumb but I think that's how it will be.

I also understand that racism is not always funny or a joke. There are some serious things that happen because of racism such as people being assaulted physicaly and even death.

I do believe tho that there is a soft and a hard side as you put it. I have black and mexican friends and family members I love and am very close to...we pick and make jokes all the time. No one in our family cares about it. I guess i've just grown up learning to like and get a long with everyone. Racism was never a serious matter unless you were doing it in a hateful way which never really accured. This is not one of those excuses where i'm saying I have family that's black so it's ok!! I'm just saying how life is for me. I think everyone has experianced it in a different way.

It's like the boy who cried wolf. People constantly cry racism everytime something happens to them they don't like. Save the serious racism accusations when it is really needed, not when someone makes a little joke. If everyone cries racism over every little thing NO ONE is going to take the subject seriously. This is why I have the opinion that I have, because I believe in what I just said.

I disapprove every kind of racism, but i also think that your views on this subject are dependent on the way you are grown up. For example, many Germans of my generation grew up with Roberto Blanco, Seal and Bruce Darnell(!).

My opinion on here is mainly with sin. i however don't agree with sinewav on outgrowing it. This species has been racist for over 5000 years... and i believe that when people disagree color of the skin may sometimes come up.

I know that i'm a little racist on the inside. i know all of you are too. its okay.

I think people are starting to take racism WAY to seriously. I mean if someone comes up to your face and says something like "**** you ******" or like "go eat a dick you cracker" thats completely different. thems fighting words. However when someone uses it normally its used jokingly. Whenever im on vent/tron its almost impossible not to hear a racist joke... you know why because they are funny! get over yourselves. get mature and grow up. i know people are gonna say,"well omg ur racist, and ur only 17 u get mature and grow up". I dont believe it makes me immature at all, it just shows that im dealing with it and having a funny time while using it. back to you guys getting mature and growing up. Life is not fair, in this generation racism will not dissapear and neither will it many many many generations to come(if it ever does at all). so deal with it make the best out of what life gives you.

Back to me being racist. you know what i'll admit it i'm partially racist. i say the black people like chicken joke, and than usually after it i say all white people do to same thing with watermelon and grape juice. I also don't think that anyone on this game would qualify to be a ******, based by sins definition. which is the only definition i use it in except for jokes. i also laughed at the joke sin said to liz. it was funny. its like seeing someone else get hurt really badly, (such as someone leans back too far in a chair in school and they fall backwards and hit their head everyone laughs). you laugh and they cry/fall on the ground in agony. thats my comparison for racism jokes.unless you tell one in front of a group of that race... then it might not turn out too well...however it might some people have a sense of humor unlike apparantly have the people on tron.......

Now i'm not saying racism is good or anything, the world would probabally be better with out it. much less violence etc. but thats not gonna happen. i see a lot of the other peoples points on this topic. like that its bad and people shouldnt do it, and yeah... i understand your points against sin they make sense in a perfect world, but they aren't logical in this world. not as of yet, or likely ever. last thing i would like to bring up is stereotypes, a type of racism which everyone uses. white people cant dance. black people cant swim. jews all have big noses(thats not racist because jews arent a race btw. Zomg a religion just thought i should bring it up), all mexicans are lazy, most mexicans/black people are in gangs., asians suck at driving/or they have squinty eyes. Personally i think most stereotypes are true. but the one people will most likely point out is the mexicans/blacks are in gangs. with a rise in crime rate and drug trafficing in the MEXICAN mafia and MEXICO having the highest drug trafficing average in the world it makes sense to me, unless they are the lazy kind of mexicans who wouldnt be in gangs because they are lazy.

Also i was raised among different races. this generation has many races, all in the same classroom. i have become racist because of school. i have learned stereotypes from school and find they are often true. and i find that many black are complete ******* ******. so thats why i'm racist. BLAME THE SCHOOLS! lols. also i hate how black people bitch about slavery. when you hardly ever hear mexicans/central/southern/native americans/ Whine and bitch and moan about their heritages being massacared... by the white people. get over it the past is the past, look toward the future. also that shit never happened to them. slavery doesn't exist in this continent anymore. so quit bitchin.
