ok, thx philippe for the pm... almost forgot about this...

I like fonkay's wall texture without the spot light on it. The texture looks very good. I liked the floor colors z-man used for his fortress screen shots. (colors from lucifer ?)

About the splash... well to me Artemis is a development name, and that's it ... the splash screen atleast needs some tron reference or even an a few ingame shots... (screenshots with a small white border perhaps ? ;))
Afterall this game is about cycle's inside the computer, not about greek statues ;) - I would like Artemis to be part of it but not the main feature.

The person who made the low polygon cycle was really good at modelling / graphics... edd or Supertard might offer some help ?

I'll try to invent another splash and see if I can include all the good work tree did so far, it just does not include concept of the game...

Has anyone tried to determine FPS with/without the new textures etc. ?

About the cycle's tail textures, pick a slanted one with or without lightning I don't care ;). (ah perhaps, keep the texture small => faster for older pcs).

joda: I have no use for PSDs anyway AFAIK (or can GIMP handle them?) If you want XCF of anything I did, just tell me which image.

I'd add an in-game screenshot to the last title I made if I was any good at making them (contributions welcome - with recordings I could adjust the resolution, effects and colours as needed)

@tree: I guess gimp can read PSD not sure about if it supports any layer effects though or layers at all ;)

I'd rather forget about the hacked hard coding that the current movie pack handling is. We should just offer a classic texture pack that restores the old defaults. After all, the title of the thread is "new default textures" :)

I think it definitely needs a new sky. The current one that looks like Fruity Pebbels milk is foogly (sorry to whomever made it).

I think the one from the Light City moviepack would look good. I suppose it should be made blue to fit with the color scheme (whomever wants to bother). The floor is really nice, too. It could be used as the sky.

The only bad thing about it is the "ical" name tag :P (blaiming lack I believe :P) and that it's too small:P

Well, I just did it to show walking tree what I meant. :) The name that's cut off is "I am suicidal". Just look up a few pages, it's from a screenshot in this thread.

The ideal picture shouldn't have the name hovering over it, of course, so if it's going to be posed somewhat, it should be snapped with names turned off. That's in the HUD menu, isn't it?

You can do in game through the console as well. By changing fadeout_name_delay I'm not sure that will turn them off all together, but you can just waiting a few seconds.

I found a few post concerning .ase that contain links, but all (including this one) are to guru3, and therefore don't work.

EDIT: That splash would look better without Artemis. But it looks great with the screenshot.
